Remnant 2 The Executioner Strategy Writeup

The Executioner is a powered-up version of the Heavy Fae. He deals massive melee damage with his powerful weapon. While performing a combo, his weapon may get stucked, allowing players to land a few hits.

He appears in an area filled with water, greatly limiting the ability to dodge for characters that have low traversal speed. This can be especially problematic when combined with some of the abilities that The Executioner can appear with, such as Cubes, Detonate, Shocking or Trapper, which cover large areas in damage. Vortex can also be problematic, pulling already slowed characters closer to the Aberration.

One way to counteract the issue of slow wading speed is leveling the Wayfarer trait, which increases a characters traversal speed, or using the Invader's Worm Hole skill. In any case, the water should be left as quickly as possible, either by entering The Executioner's small room, or by entering the hallway on the left. In the latter case players should not advance to far however, since a Fae Scion elite enemy awaits a few rooms down.

Attacks & Counter

Attack Counter
Halberd Combo: The Executioner performs a 3-hit combo, finishing with a downward strike. His weapon may get stuck on the ground. Stay far away from him. Get near to land a few hits
Charge Attack: If far away, The Executioner will close the distance dashing towards you and performing a single attack. Dodge to either side when he is close by.

If this bastard rolls with cubes, then just give up and reroll the world. Just. Give. Up. It's bad enough that dodging the cubes themselves is already literally impossible in the uber-cramped spaces with the bog slowing you down for most of it, but they also COMPLETELY obscure your view of him (and the sound they make muddles his audio cues), meaning that even dodging his axe smashes (which, combined with the cube damage, is basically a guaranteed one-shot) is lierally impossible as well. They clearly did not playtest these bosses with all possible modifiers, or at least SOMEONE on the balance team would have realised "hang on, this is complete and utter BS!"

Found the way to cheese him if he spawns in dungeons behind the painting. Just go left instantly kill mouthy mage and 2 arches go further to the spot with the ring, and then executioner blocks himself on staircase, propably this is his possible reach, you can just shoot him down easly. Given you might need 2 tries for opening doors. Just completely ignore mobs and open doors if its to hard to kill them for you before hand. Absolute bs boss if not the ways to cheese. If helped go Ig No_tomorrovv and leave a follow. Im on the grind.

Easily one of the worst "boss" fights of all time. His hitboxes are BS. He teleports out of the map. Has no weakspots. Just some reskinned trash in a tight corridor. The devs really love abusing the horrible mechanics, controls and camera in this game.

There's no 'skill' factor in this fight. It's novel the first time you find it but past that and on higher difficulties its just tedious and annoying in a myriad of ways.

So just like Capra I'm going to cheese him each time I have to fight him.

This boss with teleporter is a pain in the ass. He keeps teleporting out of bounds or some ****. I literally cant find him

Love how the wiki says his suffixes are regenerator and vortex. Mine was regenerator and shocking. its not set in stone.

I met this guy twice both times in an extremely narrow hallway with deep water and some fish mage next to him. great

Found a way to cheese him. Before you jump down, get a running start and jump off the ledge hugging the left wall and into the passage. You won't trigger the boss fight and he will stay in his spawn location. Travel down the path and kill the singular enemy (the one with the mouth on his chest) and go all the way down to where the Ornate Flail room is. (Make sure you kill the two winged archers there too). Break the statues in there, you're going to use the climbable cliff.

Now go back and aggro the boss, and lure him all the way to that Ornate Flail cliff room. Climb the cliff and go to the other side of the room where you can see him but the stalemites will prevent his melee attacks from reaching you. Then cheese away!

Best bet is to at the jump down try to jump as far as possible so you can land right in front of the left passageway and dont aggro the boss. Run to the room where there is a stalactite pillar in the middle with a lantern weilding staff enemy. Kill that mob and then go back and lure the boss over to this room. Now just kill him by kiting him around this pillar, he will get stuck and some of his melee hits wont reach you.

Found him, he has an affix that teleports me to him. Im going to ignore him this round, it's not worth the pain of getting tp'd into a claustrophobic area to get gangbanged by him.

The great hall. I’ve cleared everything but there’s 2 doors that I can’t open. Sounds like a guy screaming and some sort of monster in there. How do I open

I found a cheesy way to defeat him because his shocking is extremly anoying.
jump down to the left and RUN run past all the enemies until you reach some stairs. (several doors must be unlocked on the way) you'll arrive in the chambre where you found "something odd" head back down the hole and go until the jump part. DON'T JUMP BACK DOWN! stay there and shoot at hit until he hugs the wall below you. if that happens, run back to the wall where you fall down the hole form the room above, wait for a couple of seconds and run back to the spot to shoot at him. dodge the thunderstorms, rinse and repeat :-) I don't like to cheese but this one was just a bit too annoying for my build. hope this helps other players ;-)

Careful with the Great Hall one. Loves to teleport (seemingly) out of bounds. Real annoying. Like really, really annoying. I tried baiting him away, he just poofs, music keeps playing, do the whole map, never in sight. Unless I'm missing something.
