The Ravager is a Boss in Remnant 2. The Ravager was one of the greatest deities of the Pan, the Wanderer (Protagonist of Remnant: From the Ashes) left him for dead and The Root found its way into it and corrupted it. Bosses are the ultimate Enemies as they present a more challenging battle than Enemies or "Elite" Enemies, they are usually found guarding special locations or items, and some of them are important to the Lore and main Story of the game.

Remnant 2 The Ravager Strategy Writeup

The Ravager is one of Yaesha's main storylines world Bosses. In the arena where you fight him, there will be an NPC called The Doe that will change the items the boss drops and open up new attacks to its roster. To kill this boss try to keep your distance as much as possible, most of its attacks are short range so if you keep your distance and evade the melee attacks the fight should end quickly. If he eats The Doe he will gain a powerful wave attack and a charge attack, this makes shooting from far enough harder. You should put space between the boss and yourself, shoot it, and avoid its charge. Rinse and repeat. It's worth noting that the Root Tumblers it summons are quite good at disrupting, so kill them quickly when they appear, you can shoot them before they even start moving after the summon.

Attacks & Counter

Attack Description Counter
Claw Attack The boss makes two diagonal slashes right in front of him. Evade backwards, and if not far enough evade again.
Root Wave  A forward wave of energy in a line, it covers a wide area. Evade to the side, note that if directly in front of the boss, evading forward diagonally will be easier as range will make it very hard to dodge sideways while too close.
Summon Root Tumbler Summons several of the aforementioned enemies from its back. Kill the summons, they are a particularly annoying mob that will make the fight harder.
Jump Attack Deals a quick bit in front him and propels himself far away from the player Dodge anywhere but forward, this attack gives you a big window of time to damage the boss.
Energy Wave  (After eating The Doe or after midfight): The Ravager attracts enemies and the player character, and emits a howl alongside a damaging energy wave. If close enough, the howl also briefly stuns. Try to put as much distance as possible between you and the boss, if you are not stunned, shoot at its back.
Charge (After eating The Doe): The boss charges forward, breaking everything in its path and damaging if it makes contact. Roll to the side to avoid the charge, the attack will destroy scenery, so columns will not protect you from it.
Ravagenado Ravager howls are starts running in circle, pulling all players inside it. Stay as far as possible from him and shoot his weakspot, if it is safe to do so.

shot him. Was expecting him to immediately eat the doe, but he didn't until 50%. Then i ran to a corner while he did that. Received Maw after killing him. I don't see how i would have damaged the doe at all. Really annoying when they have conditions like this and they're buggy.

killing the doe (at least on steam, still works as of january 2024) gives the achievement for killing a boss without taking damage in singleplayer

What I'll never understand is - If the Ravager CAN kill the Doe on his own, why just main it and sit and wait for a random Paxultek to come along and let them kill the Doe for him? Just wanted a witness to his ending of the current cycle by killing the Doe? All in all, pretty confusing doggo. No Doe or Paxultek treats for this one.

          • Shooting that deer was the easiest choice I ever made. Those damn things that jumped in out of nowhere and knocked me down were more of a menace than the actual enemies.

These boss fights would be way more fun and an actual challenge if they all weren't 1-2 hits because the devs don't know how to balance boss damage.

I just love the fact that this is the same ravager from remnant from the ashes. Reminds me how the dreamer from remnant from the ashes is the main protagonist from Chronos who is from the same tribe as the wanderer.

Friends game appears to be broken. Where do you go AFTER you fight the boss or make your choice? He killed the doe but there is no more quests showing him where to go. No !!! anywhere. He has searched every area available and nothing new is showing. Any ideas?

Maybe I'm misremembering, but I recall his attacks inflicting Bleed in the version of the fight where I shot the doe. While he got a heal(?) and a bunch of buffs when he ate the doe instead.

GFG loves their enemy attacks that literally causes them to slide across the floor to put them in range to hit you. So bad at boss design they have to break the rules of their own game.

i don't think anyone has posted this yet but if you just kill the doe you'll get the only human achievement (kill a boss without taking damage) if you want to get it legit i'd avoid doing that until you get the achievement

Can confirm that if you chose to let the Ravager eat the doe mid fight and dead, when you respawn the doe is no longer there but you will get the Merciless reward

Attack list is missing some sort of channeling AoE he does. It seems to me that you're supposed to break his concentration but just shooting his face does nothing.

Honestly WAAAAYYYY easier in its second phase, its much less aggressive and has plenty of moves where it just stands still and lets you blast it

This is just frustrating, one move and covers the entire area, 2 hits and kills you, if the freaking monster doesn't spam the same move to pin and kill you. this game has got everything to be great, but the lack of balance with the enemies is just plain bad design

This guy is a colossal bullet sponge. A few ammo boxes can be helpful for this fight, and most importantly - ammo efficiency is the name of the game. Use your mods as they come up when you can get the most out of them, but pace yourself - this is a marathon, not a sprint. Don't waste ammo on body shots, you need to be aiming for the red pustule on his back. Luckily it's a big target. You should also make use of melee if possible, there's usually a decent gap in time after his lunge attack (where he leaps and bites), his charge attack (where he runs and bites, much slower), and his claw swipes.

The good news is his tells are very obvious and for the most part he does not go for area denial attacks except immediately around him - you won't have to dodge pools of acid or falling rocks (though the pillars may get in your way until they're all destroyed). He also does not summon many Root Tumblers in my experience, which is a mixed blessing - less distraction mid-fight, but also very little ammo spawning in. And unfortunately his Howl and Whirlwind attacks tend to kill summons, so don't count on them being a reliable source of damage in the later phases. But with some practice it's very easy to avoid taking damage and to inflict, you will just need to play well for a long period of time.

Medics will find that the best time to drop a healing pool is right after he does his jump attack away from the player. He often follows this up with an Energy Wave, but that's easy enough to avoid and you can use a decent chunk of your class ability and save your Dragon Heart charges.

At least in my game, once he got down to about a quarter health he just repeatedly charged at me and then used his AoE howl, which was easy to abuse. I am not sure if this is a bug, but if it is not it's pretty easy to melee him down at that point.

I played Nightmare and there's a lot more moves than described here. What I encountered are Double Swipe, Double Bites, Turn Bite, Backward Jump, Charged Shockwave (easier to dodge head in into shockwave, just time it when shockwave almost hit) Lunge Attack (with follow up Single Swipe and Single Bite), Dash and Turn (away from player if attacked from behind), summon monsters, Howl then Charge (best to dodge sideway at last moment), Whirlwind, and Howl with AoE shockwave. Any of the directional attack moves can start from either left or right.

I didn't let the Ravager eat The Doe and still he had attacks like charge or energy wave, so I think it all depends on the 2nd phase of the boss.

Can you heal the doe, then allow the ravager to eat it mid fight, so you can obtain the broken antler and crimson membrane for both weapons?

                                        • Anonymous

The powered up version of this boss after eating the doe feels super rng. He has the energy wave that sucks in everything around the map and chances are if you are too close when he starts the animation its an instant kill. Otherwise some runs he wont even do the move despite being charged up. Everything else is pretty manageable.

                                          • After siding with him and killing the doe, you can return to where you entered Yaesha, where the Wolf & Doe statues change to the wolf standing over its body, then the floor slides away to reveal stairs leading down to an altar that holds the Fruit of Death, which turns into the Lifeless Heart relic after eating it a few times.

                                            • Note: everyone should pay attention to the first turn and choose correctly from the first turn.
I think the boss will have phase 2 and that's when he rushes to the doe and eats the deer. so I made a mistake leading to not getting the desired item. haizzz

I believe the destroyer actually refers to the player character from Remnant: from the ashes, rather than Chronos.
