Crafting in Remnant 2 is the process of creating new Items. In Remnant: From the Ashes, players could craft new Weapons, Armor, Weapon Mods, and other upgrades using Crafting Materials they found while exploring or defeating Enemies and Bosses. In Remnant 2, a few things have changed regarding the old crafting and upgrading systems. For example, Armor can no longer be upgraded.
Remnant 2 Crafting System
Players can craft a variety of items in Remnant 2. McCabe in Ward 13 is the one in charge of most of the Crafting in the game, but not the only one capable of doing so. Nimue in Losomn, Wallace in Ward 13 and a few others can help you with crafting.
Which are the craftable items in Remnant 2?
- Engrams: Engrams can be crafted, especially new ones, with Wallace in Ward 13
- Weapon Mods: McCabe in Ward 13 is in charge of crafting Weapon Mods.
- Weapons: Certain Weapons have to be crafted. McCabe and Nimue
- Items: Some miscellaneous items such as certain Consumables can be crafted.

Remnant 2 Upgrading System
Players can upgrade Weapons in Remnant 2 by talking to Rigs in Ward 13. Weapons can be divided into two types:
- Regular Weapons: which can be leveled up to level 20 and don't have any Weapon Mod equipped when first acquired.
- Special Weapons: which can be leveled up to level 10 and always come with their own special Weapon Mod equipped. This Mod CANNOT be removed.
This division goes beyond the type of the weapon and affects Long Guns, Hand Guns. and Melee Weapons equally. In Remnant 2, Armor can't be upgraded.

the total cost of upgrading a standard weapon from fresh to max is 7800 Scrap, 40 of the first 3 iron types, 36 Hardened Iron and 1 Simulacrum
