Armor in Remnant 2 provides defensive properties and protects the player from enemy attacks. Armor pieces may be found from crates/chests in various locations and purchased from Merchants. In Remnant: From the Ashes, Armor was separated into three groups: Head Armor, Body Armor, and Leg Armor which, together, formed a set. In Remnant 2, besides all three armor pieces present in the previous game, Gloves have also been added, providing protection to the arms of players. This page will be updated with all the Armor pieces available in Remnant 2 once more information has been released.
Armor Patch Changes in Remnant 2
With the patch released on October 27th, 2023, Remnant 2 Armor has received a major update. All weight ratio for Armor Sets has been adjusted as well as the Weight Class Stamina penalty for Medium, Heavy, and Ultra Heavy armor sets.
Developers decided to clean up armor and damage reduction, pointing out that there was a large discrepancy between different armors when considering armor granted versus weight. Meaning that some armors would grant incredible armor per weight point, others would fall behind greatly. Now light armor has the most efficient ratio of armor granted per weight cost, and the heaviest, on the other hand, is the least efficient, but still grants a LOT more than Light Armor. There are a few variances, but lighter armor sets and individual pieces will have a higher armor to weight ratio than heavier armor.
This change also allowed to move some armor weight values around, to adjust to this new armor weight ratio. Some armors have gained weight, but there are also changes to the Strong Back trait to compensate.
Stamina Cost penalty for each armor weight class has also been changed to better represent the tradeoff between Damage Reduction, Weight, and Stamina Cost. This means that the heaviest armor will have a stronger Stamina Cost for stamina-based actions. Light Armor and Medium Armor will maintain their +2 and +1 iFrame buffs.
Weight in Remnant 2
Weight is one of the most important aspects related to Armor in Remnant 2 as it determines the type of Dodge your character is able to perform. Having a light weight, allows players to move more fluidly and dodge easier and further away than players that have a heavy weight on them.
♦Ultra Heavy: FLOP. 75% Stamina Cost Penalty.
♦Heavy: Slow Dodge. 50% Stamina Cost Penalty.
♦Medium: Normal Dodge. 25% Stamina Cost Penalty.
♦Light: Fast Dodge. No Stamina Cost Penalty.
Upgrading Armor in Remnant 2
Unlike the previous game, Armor in Remnant 2 CAN'T be upgraded. The weight, defenses bonuses and resistances that you get when you pick up the item are unchangeable later on.

Why is this list so bad? All you can see is how it looks and name. Why can't it be like for R:FTA along with armor and weight?

Ideas for armours since I feel like it’s the least looked over.
1. Transmog for us to enjoy different looks
2. Have mutator slots for armour and the higher weight of the armour the less slots can be used that way people play around more with other armours.
3. Set bonuses but not your basic bonuses only. Example letos armour rolls cause shockwave
4. Add colors to mess with colors to add a fun way to it for us in my own opinion would be like each world has their own types of colors and to create it we have to do certain things, it’ll add more play time and enjoyment
5. Although I’m a huge fan of customizing all piece of equipment and would wish for speedster gear I.e. shoulders, back, hand, arm. Leg. Feet. I think the color idea on my number 4 could be nice if we can do it piece by piece

where are the set bonuses????? and why do i have to pick this ugly set of junk, just becasue i wanna be tanky....

As the other guy said. "Maybe have some type of optional transmog or skins so characters don't look mismatched when players try to get the best stats by combining pieces from different armor sets." It feels like i have 2 options.
- Anonymous
I understand this is a topic that many players are divided on.
It seems(IMO) like the devs could add a bit more to the armor in this game. Maybe a slot with an effect similar to mutators but for armor and added items that incentivize not using said slot?
Maybe have some type of optional transmog or skins so characters don't look mismatched when players try to get the best stats by combining pieces from different armor sets.
My thoughts behind that are just to add to the customizable nature of the game while catering to the wants of each individual player.
Just my 2 cents about what I'd personally prefer.

There should be a mutator slot for your armor(some rings can become the mutators) so many rings and only half are ever used

I think that it was a mistake to *completely* remove armor set bonuses.
As it stands, armor only affects dodge weight and DR, which means that there's no in-game reason to do anything other than maximize DR (or elemental/blight resistance) while staying under a weight threshold.
That isn't increasing player choice, it's REMOVING it.
A few ideas off the top of my head:
• equipable bonuses (sort of like mutators), maybe based on weight class or on the number of pieces from the same set (or even world of origin)
• bonuses per equipped piece of armor depending on their weight
• more bonuses/penalties for each weight class (melee attack speed, movement speed, dodge distance, stagger resistance, etc.)
What do you think? Does anyone else have any ideas or thoughts?

Bandit Jacket, Knotted Cage, Nightstalker Garb and Trainer Clothes hides your real gloves equiped so you maximize your armor potential by having better gloves without ruining your drip.

Needs to be extra body, leg and gloves added. Why is there only mismatched head pieces. Cmon gunfire games

I really hate current stagger mechanic, you never know when you get staggered and even if you go ultra heavy weight full tank build you still get tumbled left and right by enemy hits despite doing pretty much no damage.
They should overhaul whole stagger mechanic, such as all armor pieces would automatically give some stagger resistance, in addition all enemy attack would be assigned stagger damage so that weak hits would always stagger you if you wear light or medium armor set but not if you would wear heavy or ultra heavy set.
Yes I know you can increase your stagger resistance but it is only in specific situations and for limited time only.
I mean I am going full tank so what I'm not getting staggered, it's not like my damage is super awesome or something. Is it too much to ask?

does anyone know what is best combination to get max armor for light, medium and heavy weight post halloween patch?
- Anonymous
I hope they add alt skins like they did in the first. I like mixing the shapes of some of the armor pieces but the colors will sometimes clash way too much.

Need me some more armor from N'Erud. So alien and so unusual but GOODNESS I cannot stop using the Tech Plate. Love it

The armor designs are so incredibly bad. Starting armor designs are better than most everything else. Who tf hired their model designs team? Yikes

Add more armor, add armor bonuses, remove level cap, and get rid of half the rings and yourself a great game.
- Anonymous
So disappointed that they removed Set bonuses, one of the greatest parts of the previous game. Something that made the game be what it is. The scaling is already incredibly badly designed and then they make armour worse?
- Anonymous
leto mark two plus meteorite shard ring plus weightless weight and momentum driver is insane i get 36% movement speed i love it i want to find ways to get even heavier

Armor needs an urgent rework. The bright steel ring basically makes all armor obsolete, except Letos. Just join an apocalypse online game and and watch everyone using it.
At least give us transmog, so that not everyone looks exactly the same.
Or nerf the bright iron ring. Maybe make it lower weight by 1 class instead of completely negating it. There are so many beautiful armor sets, but they all suck, once you have the ring.

I'm looking for sexy armor. What kind of armor would be a candidate?

I have just been mixing and matching armor so I have the most armor at 50 weight, within medium. I look stupid. I prefer the first game which incentivized you to wear full armor sets. Here they could give you a perk for wearing a full armor with a certain archetype, especially the since they’re clearly meant to go together.

Some pretty good points made here, the down votes on some of these are just silly
- Anonymous
I understand why armor pieces don't have unique passives anymore, but to be honest I dislike that
It feels like armor took a bit too much of a backseat here, losing their distinct abilities has removed any value when it comes to finding armor or picking what you want; the game's more-or-less just fashion souls' their armor when it was much better in the first game imo

I can see the downvotes coming already ;). I would agree with the post me, armor in its current state /feels bad. It's too readily available from the start of the game to be cherished, with multiple classes unlocking instant rewards from the start vendor. The set bonuses are no longer in game, but we're never a problem in the first title - there was always an amulet or ring workaround to deviate from heavy build flopping (with only 1/4 of the ring options I might add). The first game also had a fairly long list of cosmetic unlocks, which would have addressed the development team wanting to deviate from putting so much emphasis toward armor, or concern for players who enjoyed the cosmetic aspects. It's been some of my favorite moments solving the puzzles required to unlock some of the sets that are not actually available from the beginning, missed opportunity here - more of that tomb raider feel is always welcome in my book. As it is, having the majority of unlocks both easily available at the start vendor, and now lacking set bonuses, rather detracts from generating interest in it at all. While I applaud the ridiculous number of ambulance and ring editions in this title, it feels very odd (and the only title I can think of with this emphasis on so much neckwear/ring load out) basing a build or prepping for a tough fight with armor not needing any consideration other than minimal. I I think it may in the long run, detract from the long-term replayability as well.

New armor sets just unlocked for me that arent here. the Bandit set, the Cultist set, and the Leto mk 1 set all have shown up.

I Dislike Armor in this game, it feels more like cosplay than useful. Leto MK II is Ultra Heavy armor yet 2 of those Faes with a pointy stick can stun lock me to death. Remnants From the Ashes had better Sets. The removal of the Set boni as well as the Upgrades and them not granting any Stagger immunity just makes me dislike them so much.

Nesecitamos mas armaduras mas personalizacion, mas mundos eso dejaria este juego en alta estima

Just an opinion, but I think they missed a good opportunity allowing 70% of the armors available at the start vendor. The puzzle unlocks in various worlds for the ones that aren't, I've been some of the most fun so far. Similar to the rings, the sheer abundance or ease of acquiral, seems more like instant gratification versus rewarding experience to obtain.

Time to cosplay as Mad Max and start beating the **** of every boss in the game with nothing but my bubble darryl shot-goon!

Just got done playing the campaign on Vet, and checked Whispers.

Having beat the game now, I can definitely say I'd like to see future armour additions (along with the puzzles to unlock them, tomb raider vibes). I've found about 2 full set's since completing the game without referring to google, lol but have 42 rings and 14 amulets (bit lopsided as also mentioned below). I can definitely see the dev's wanting to deviate, and lessen the requirement for armour making/breaking build choices. That said though, the first game had plenty of unique items to find and work around weight problems / resistances, you never really felt bottlenecked. While there's no doubt there is some diversity between so many rings and amulets, it definitely feels like quantity>quality with a lot have repeating attributes (similar), unlike armour. That said, I can't find anything yet that compliments or buffs heavy armour flopping (but quite a few for evasion).

Loving the puzzle unlocks for armor, nearly a tomb raider-esque type vibe! Although, kind of wish all were hidden outside your starting set vs. being either vendorable from the start, or ultimate edition freebies.

I don't see it here but you can get the cultist set, bandit set and the Leto mk1 set if you beat the game on survivor, or at least I did.

Feel like there aren't that many light/medium sets compared to heavy but I'm guessing some are missing.

The drippiest guy in the whole damn game is The Custodian. I want that armor. Please let us get that armor eventually somehow.
- Anonymous
for those who play on apoc, does medium armor tank 1 hit from bosses
- Anonymous
There should be more armor sets in this game. It’s just the class armor sets and like 2 hidden sets per world. Also 3 of the coolest sets from the first game are deluxe edition only, with no other way to get them in game. Disappointing.

What’s the weight limits for each tier? Like it we mix and match or don’t use a helmet with a medium set are we light?

New armours not showing up after beating the game? There is currently a bug if you have re-rolled your campaign at any point before beating the game they will not show up. Either wait for a patch for it to be fixed, or speed run the game on a new character without re-rolling the story.

Why is letos mk 1 and other Armors not showing up after beating the Final Boss
- Anonymous
I can confirm, Leto's set, bandit set, and ex cultist set do unlock after completing the main campaign.

Just like the previous game, there is no gear locked behind difficulty. Locked behind other MODES perhaps...But not difficulty.

Leto mk1 on sale at whispers, looks like very slightly less armor than mk2 but more resists.

Can anyone actually confirm how to get whisper to sell mor armor sets?

leto's Armor from the first game is available from Whispers after beating the game on normal

Leto mark 1 set Get by beating Hardcore mode still have to buy it from wispers on new charter tho... "think that how Wisper got it for me any way " Almost dyed few times but lucky picked a Good class hint.with a few 10 min breaks was able to do it finally ... "if you die you charter stays dead be careful

Some of the armors have really bad armor to weight ratio, and others are really high - like trainers gloves giving 7 armor for 3 weight but elder gloves giving 3 armor for 3 weight. Doesn't even seem to factor in how much resists the item has either when deciding armor values. I wanna look cool but I don't wanna have like 30% less armor than a minmax setup :(
- Anonymous
Leto Mk 1 is in game, so are the Cultist and Bandit sets. Purchasable from Whispers, post game.

I was hoping there'd be more armor sets. Especially ones from the first game sadge

I do miss set bonuses... But I am glad their gone, having four ring slots instead is way better, I'm also glad that armour upgrading isn't a thing anymore, now I can focus on style, and upgrading my weapons at the same time.

Is this all in terms of armor sets? Kind of seems low for a sequel. Half of it is starting armor too
