Remnant 2 Primogenitor Strategy Writeup

This boss is a combination of simple but numerous enemies, it has only one jumping attack but is very fast and small, making it difficult to hit it. Shoot it and dodge jumping attacks till it hides itself inside one of the Hatchers flying around, to make it come out shoot its host until it dies, note that in the meantime it will spawn several Baby Parasites. This is the combat pattern of the whole fight, it will progressively increase the speed of the boss, the attacks, and the number of mobs spawned. Keep shooting, dodging attacks and kill the baby ones to get ammo. Remember that if you get overwhelmed by parasites, you can roll to unlatch them or use any AOE damage weapon or mod that centers the damage on the caster. A good way to ensure damage is dealt even though it's hard to hit is to apply BURNING on it.

Attacks & Counter

Attack Description Counter
Hatcher
Barrage The flying Hatchers around you will periodically shoot CURSE damage balls at you. Be aware of them at all times to make a dodge when needed, be careful with the side platforms of the arena since they leave little room to maneuver
Primogenitor
Latch Jump  It jumps a couple of meters forward, trying to latch itself to you to cause damage overtime until you roll or damage it. It also deals heavy CURSE damage. Dodge to the sides to avoid being latched on to. If he latches on, roll to make him go away.
Hide After some time, it will jump to the nearest Hatcher and hide inside. While killing Hatcher may seem as a priority, Primogenitor in this state is very vulnerable to damage, as not only he may only hide for second, his whole body is a weakspot. Therefore, use that time to damage Primogenitor.

What's the point of destroying the Hatcher? Boss takes guaranteed weakspot damage while in the hatcher, and no weakspot damage outside of it. Another Hatcher spawns nearly instantly when you kill one too.

Grab the Enigma sidearm from the Labyrinth, then use it to melt TF out of this dude. Once you kill his tardigrade you can zap the pants off him before he wiggles his ass back up the wall.

This fight is less difficult and more tedious that anything. Primarily because of the stupid levels of mobility the damn bug itself has. If you want to hit it in melee when you get it down you NEED something that will slow it, otherwise by the time you try to hit it it will have already backed up to jump at you again. Irritating boss.

For some reason even when you hit it with a melee attack more than 80% of the time it just doesn't register.

Not sure if the devs changed the boss fight but I did weakspot damage to the boss when it was attached to a hatcher.

A funny bug occurred during my fight... After I killed the first hatcher, he jumped out and just disappeared into the floor. I tried using Hunter's Mark to see if I could actually find him, but no luck. Instead, I was able to locate him while spamming the Toxic Release Valve to kill the little adds while running around the room. I then killed it with the Toxic Release Valve through the floor. It took a quite a while because I'm currently playing on apocalypse. Lmao.

Man this fight is incredibly rough early game. The Reserve Boosting Gem is honestly the only reason I survived. Honestly an enjoyable fight though.

This is probably one of the more annoying fights in the game for me!

The Archon "Slow-Bubble" ability did help a lot; once the blue creature fell off, trap him in the bubble for some extra easy hits on him.

Engineer worked well. Had the turret down and overloaded when it latched on to me. Standing next to the turret let it pour damage into the boss.

FYI even on apoc in multiplayer, fire tornado almost killed him before he got to get back up.
Enigma is also for some reason also solid dps on just the boss itself and you dont have to aim as it also takes out the rest of the adds

                        • You can damage the boss even when it's attached to a hatcher. Damaging the boss this way still damages the hatcher, so you might as well get as much boss dps in as you can while taking out the hatcher.

The boss is also pretty easy to just spam melee attacks on, even if you aren't a melee build. You take far more damage from the purple balls than you do the boss.
