Defeat Mantagora to loot the following drops or gain the following rewards:

Corrupted Lumenite Crystal x2 (+5 if the player already has the mutator.)

Remnant 2 Mantagora Strategies

Mantagora is very different than the other Aberrations and bosses in the game, in that she is not directly hostile to the player. She will only attack to protect herself and will attempt to fly away when attacked. Like other Aberrations she can spawn with the regenerator effect meaning she constantly regenerates health, making the fight much more difficult if not impossible without enough firepower. She will patrol the entire Imperial Gardens area, so it is advised to have a group of players and to split up throughout the area to kill her. She can be killed solo but it takes much longer, it is recommended to fight her on top of the temple in the center of the map if doing it solo as you have a greater fire arch over the entire map. Each time that Mantagora is injured, she summons root enemies to defend her, counter this by hiding in enclosed spaces as most of the root summons are ranged focused.

Attacks & Counter

Attack Counter
Attack 1: Fireballs Counter 1: Simply take cover
Attack 2: Spawn root enemies Counter 2: Hide in a walled area of the map to avoid being attacked from multiple angles
Attack 3: Root Tendrils Counter 3: Dodge when possible, but this attack is hard to dodge
Attack 4: Flying away Counter 4: Have a group of friends with you and stand in random locations throughout the area.

This boss is pretty easy with Monarch from the first DLC. If you can tag him with the anchor from the start of the level then just fire away and reposition to keep your bullets clear of any landscape. I noticed he flies under the floating islands to get away from you at times. I used twisted wounds +10 to do some extra damage over time.

lol Was on Nightmare difficulty when I got this boss first time. I was like ok lets try this. Shot him couple of times chipped 10% damage, he summoned some minions and I killed them then he runs away and hide out of sight. After a 1 min or so he came back fully heald and then I noticed...Regenerator + Minions. I know exactly what that mean and lucky I already cleared map and pick up all items that I cud so I just turned around and left that map. To hell with this boss with Regenerator buff.

Hilariously, mine had teleporter. It seems that teleporter works by teleporting the boss to your location when it takes damage (on a cool down), or at least that's how it seemed to work for me. And when it ends up next to you... It just flies away. So I was able to keep spamming it down, and every time it almost got away I would hit it one more time and it would teleport back to me. Rinse and repeat. Took less than a minute. May you share in my RNG.

You think this boss by itself is bad? Try playing on hardcore and it rolls the Displacer suffix. Literally teleported me as I was running and I ended up running right off a cliff edge. Displacer is the dumbest suffix in the game.

I was on apocalypse difficulty and the moment I have seen regenerator under his name I sead to my self **** this **** and left it alone. lol Luckily in my next apocalypse play through I also got this boss and with out regenerator and was easy kill. lol

This boss is way more drawn out than it needs to be; just time-consuming for no reason. Just like these f***ing reCAPTCHA minigames you have to play just to post a damn comment.

Merciless > apply bleed > switch to weapon mod > make a cup of coffee while watching this beautiful creature bleed.

Do this before it gets fixed.

There is no avenue or circumstance where this boss fight is engaging, fun or satisfying in any memorable way. It is, to put it simply, the worst kind of gimmick boss where it feels whoever designed it has no concept or grasp of video game enjoyment and simply decided to throw in the towel and pitch the most low-effort form of forced time engagement you can possibly conceive.

I can SORT OF understand the concept and intent of this encounter: you and your two other friends enter this winding maze that is the Imperial Gardens, you explore, realize there is a flying boss that wanders the entire map, and try to coordinate and split up to cover as much ground as possible in order to take it down.

In practice, even with this expectation/strategy in mind, this encounter is boring and unfun in every sense of the word. There is no engagement to be had, just annoyance and tedium in every possible circumstance. I had two other friends; one with a Widowmaker and the other with the Huntsmaster (two of the intended long range sniper weapons) and one guy with the Bonesaw spread out in 3 corners of the map and it STILL took us 20-30 minutes to kill this thing. The whole time, all of us were in agreement that it was just a waste of our time in every sense of the word.

Why can the boss fly UNDER the map where literally nothing can hit it?

Why can the boss fly away and far away from the map itself that even a sniper rifle can't do more than 30 dmg to it?

Why can the boss fly so high and vertically up that it exceeds the literal VERTICAL aim limit of the player?

Why can it spawn with annoying modifiers such as Displacer, Regenerator and Root Grab?

And for extra salt on the wound, one of the best and most popular Mutators, Momentum, is locked behind it, as well.

Screw this boss, in every sense of the word.

best advice I can give for dealing with this boss is do a 360 and walk away as soon as you enter this area.

So this boss is the reason I am advocating for the policy that whoever design a boss do not get to eat lunch till they beat the boss they designed. That way we don't get something as stupid as this oversized fish. I am ****ing typing this as I wait for this ****er to get out from under the map. I can see the "cool" pitch for this dumb thing: a giant boss that traverse the map and player had to chase it in a thrilling hunt across them map, totally not inspired by a story about some dude chasing a white whale. There only one flaw with such a "cool" idea. The person that came up with it, or had to implement it, is either incompetent or a god damn tree hugging hippie because whoever thought it is a good idea to let this thing dive under the map, in a map with little to no place that allow taking shot at something below the map, need to rethink their design skill. Also the fact that they coded the AI of this thing to run away instead of engaging the player is a gigantic oversight or the work of a dirty hippie because this stupid thing will either dive to the bottom of the map or to the very top, putting it out of most gun range and its own freaking attack range. I am leaning toward the hippie side with the design of this thing because by some mercy or self-awareness, this thing had a pretty pitiful amount of hp, which make it a bit more tolerable. So there is some awareness that this thing could be just an absolute tedious and rage inducing fight if it had hp on par with other mini-boss.

My advice with hunting this thing? don't chase it, the thing is absolutely brain dead, park yourself in its path, preferably somewhere high, and wait, take pot shot at it, and roll away from its "attack". In a short bit, it will pop back for you to shoot it again. And may RNGesus has mercy on you that it doesn't spawn with regneration and teleport, cause that make this fight stupidly longer, and if you decide to chase it? randomly get teleport to the edge and walked off (aka. starting over). Hopefully, the dev change the AI and just have it fly over the map and never dive under it, and remove the stupid run away clause from the AI.

When a buddy and I "fought" this thing on Nightmare, it had Regenerator and Teleport, so the whole time, all it did was teleport behind us and fly away, so we just parked ourselves in a spot and took potshots at it whenever it flew by, and it eventually died to bleed, because Merciless. Very hard fight.

Mine had Displacer. I killed it pretty easily! Killed it with Deceit at the entrance of the map and didn't have to deal with any adds only thing it did was teleport me around the crystal lol

I really enjoy hearing the "fight" audio queue over and over as this thing continuously disengages and you get to break your neck for an hour looking at random parts of the sky and abyss. This boss "fight" honestly needs a serious rework.

Had good success fighting it in the area at the far end of the map, i.e. if you draw a line from the entrance through the dial puzzle, then the outermost area the line points to was a good place to fight it. It went in a semicircle from above to the left to below on the right. It would take a few seconds, maybe 90 or so, then it would show up again above to the left. Deceit is good for chunking the health, also used Hot Shot on my Handgun to keep Regenerator from completely ruining my day.

this boss was stupid mine dropped a simulacrum but it was on a ledge i couldn't actually stand on. this felt more like a glitchy boss they couldn't fix and just said yeah just call it a teleporter and it'll be fine, i base this theory on the fact that it never hit me not because i dodged but because it was so high in the sky that it's attack didn't have enough range to reach me and it would use it's teleport "ability" and just glitch in and out of walls. i recommend using a semi leveled up widowmaker even with mine at +11 it was so far in the sky i was only doing 88 per shot.

Basically, if you see him throw DOT damage and hit him when you are exploring, you don’t need to rush to kill him

Chasing after this thing is the real "challenge". Disappeared on me like 5 times before I finally killed it.

                                      • I managed to solo him. I stayed somewhat close to that first checkpoint area. Take out the mobs in the area first, or it may get a bit hairy. Conserve ammo while doing so. Then, when Mantagora is somewhat close, hit him with dots, if possible. My main rifle had fire on it, and my SMG had acid. He can heal up, but not always, it seems. If you find you're too low on ammo, zone out, come back, hit the checkpoint to reload the area, and try again.

Mine had hearty and minions. Pain in the butt to solo but I just camped the courtyard where you find the crossbow puzzle and reserved my fire shot mod for her. Every time she'd get in line I'd get a wave of mobs and it took a couple tries, but the DoT did its thing in the end.

My friend and I duod this. It probably took close to 30 minutes. It had drain which didn't help at first, but we quickly figured out how to not get hit. Next it was simply about damaging it, dodging, clearing the adds, run around until we get close to it and repeat.

                                            • Anonymous

Feels like an incomplete boss fight, one I'd advise skipping but her mutator drop is pretty great with the right build. Get a long range weapon, purchase some ammo boxes, and snipe away until the job is done. Tedious boss, so here's hoping it receives some sort of rework in the future.

Ours did not regen health. I'm pretty sure it's based on what affixes it has. Ours was Displacer and Thick Skin.
