Level 10: Critical Hits from this weapon add 2 stacks. Increases duration by 2s.

 

Momentum is a Mutator in Remnant 2. Momentum is a Ranged Mutator that activates on scoring a Critical Hit, progressively increasing Critical Chance and Critical Damage by 1.5% for 3 seconds, stackable up to 10 times. This mutator enhances the weapon's critical capabilities during intense combat situations.

 

Remnant 2 Momentum Effect

Momentum is a Ranged Mutator that can be equipped on Hand Guns and Long Guns with an availale Mutator Slot.

Once Momentum is equipped on a Ranged Weapon, it provides the following effect:

  • When this weapon scores a Critical Hit, it increases Critical Chance and Critical Damage by 1.5% for 3s. Max 10 stacks.

      Min-maxxing my new Anguish build on the new patch (it's cracked now with archon/summoner). Does momentum work on the mod? Hard to tell, tbh... feels like my damage numbers are ramping up as I shoot, but there's actually too many numbers on screen to make sense of them all...

      • I am about halfway through my first campaign and suddenly remembered mutators exist and that I have this one. It seems pretty fun on my MP60 as a hunter. Huntmaster for long range headshots, when they get close swap to secondary and hold the mouse button down in their general direction until they go away.

          Like i wrote in 17 Aug 7:23

          I tested momentum +2 dealing 293 crit
          Momentum +3 297 crit,

          So i think its working OK already.

            Tested Momentum +10 in the August 17 patch, which is supposed to have "fixed" Momentum. I'm getting +60% Crit Damage at max stacks now instead of the expected +30%. As an example, a non-crit does 51 damage, a crit with 0 stacks does 77 damage (50% Crit Damage), a crit with 10 stacks does 107 damage (110% Crit Damage). For reference, equipping Probability Cord (ring that gives +30% Crit Damage) and unequipping Momentum causes my crits to do 92 damage (80% Crit Damage bonus), which is the number I should be seeing from Momentum +10 at max stacks.

              With momentum +1 284 (10 stacks)
              With momentum +2 284 (10 stacks)

              I dont know if its the description or its bugged, but is not properly explained. (Maybe it adds probability)

                upgraded to rank 10, it grants 2 stacks per crit like it says (based on the buff icon) but it seems to only be giving the base crit chance/dmg of 1.5% per stack rather than 3% (at 10 stacks the buff says im getting 15% bonus, rather than the 30% i should be getting, unless im misunderstanding how this works.) crit dmg on body shot crits on testing dummy goes from 113 to 136 at full stacks (weapon is the blackmaw AR) which rough math, does indeed look to be about 15% give or take. i wish i had taken note before reaching rank10 on the mutator to see if it was performing correctly but i did not.

                  So currently, as I write this post, the Momentum mutator is bugged. At max upgrade you should be receiving 30% crit chance and damage, however, even while at level 10 it still uses the base line numbers of 1.5 per stack. So either the description is somehow wrong, or something is wrong with the code. I’m not certain if this effects everyone, but I’m just putting this here in case a developer sees it.
