On the new Trinity Crossbow, this mutator changes wording when equipped to only grant ammo into the reserves.
So lame. Its like a pre release nerf. In a PvE game.

      • Bandit is one of my favorite mods, so here's what I know / found out:

Bandit will have no meaningful effect on weapons whose reload animations are triggered before its effect procs.

Bandit procs on the hit rather than on the shot, which means that its effect will be delayed depending on the speed of the firearm's projectiles and the distance of the struck target.

Also, if you miss, the effect won't proc.

Take this into account when your magazine is low on ammo, or with weapons that have small base magazine sizes.

With a Level 10 Bandit Mutator:

Cube Gun: It works, but the travel-time of projectiles is slow, leading to erratic results. Eventually, you can get it to full against long-range targets but heat buildup will become an issue.

Hellfire: Yes! Each enemy that a single flame "puff" passes through adds another "dice roll" to proc the effect to increase the chance of the proc, but it can proc only ONCE per flame puff. So, it won't generate ammo infinitely but it will absolutely extend how much you can fire the gun. Shooting into a horde of enemies will make your mag last a really long time.

Nebula: It acts similarly to Hellfire but... I noticed that it was ALSO proccing the effect when I stopped firing and the target was still receiving damage tics from the corrosion. So this will play well into styles where you blasting enemies and then running off to let the DOT kill them.

Bolt Driver: Yes! But absolutely I hate this gun! (skill issue)

Meridian: Yes! It procs on direct hits AND on splash damage, but... it can only proc ONCE per shot. So if you splash multiple enemies, you will increase the proc chance, but you won't get multiple procs leading to infinite ammo generation.

Star Shot: Yes! It procs on hits AND splash but only once per shot, similar to the Meridian.

Sorrow: It works, good for builds that don't scale mod power charging but not really useful for ones that don't.

Enigma: Yes, it works but you don't get additional procs on each chained target.

Any full-auto weapon: At level 10 it acts like a 30% extended mag with a 10% fire rate boost, but it won't consume extra ammo when the effect procs.

However... The 10% fire rate boost will result in 10% more heat generation on guns like the XMG57 and Plasma Cutter. However, it makes these guns able to fire for an extremely long time between reloads.

        Single Shot Weapons:

Crossbow: Doesn't work! The reload animation triggers before the projectile hit can proc the effect. I recommend using Slayer instead.
Bows: No effect! I recommend using supercharger instead!
Sporebloom: Yes! It's like a freight train!
        Widowmaker: Yes! It's great!
        Sureshot: Yes! It's great!
Arbalest: Yes! Insanely well! It can proc on every hit/ricochet, but remember that the projectile is slow, so you may have to use it a little closer so that the reload animation doesn't trigger before the projectile hits.

Works with the dog’s attacks and the bleed dot. Tested by having the dog attack some nearby enemies while I had an empty gun. Regained bullets even when the dog wasn’t attacking but bleed was ticking.

Finally got it on my 4th Yaesha, at Expanding Glade. If anyone is searching for this: start from entrance and keep an eye on the right side edge. It’s not a secret manhole or illusory wall, but a regular street with two giant Pan warrior statues standing face to face on each side of street.

Can trigger off of indirect hits (such as Starshot's explosion), and can trigger multiple times off of a single shot, provided multiple targets are hit (Aphelion, etc.).

For those who want specifics, the dual bosses will only spawn in one of the given locations when you have the injectible in your world seed. This being a platform with two large statues of Yaesha warriors, one holding a sword. When you see the statues, you know you have the spawn. Once you find this injectible, search around for a hole you can drop down. My method for finding this was re-rolling yaesha for forbidden grove as the start point each time and rushing to the first dungeon door. If it wasnt one of the locations above, I would leave. If it was, I would search for the statues. Took a bit but eventually I got it. Hopefully this info helps as I don't see many people mentioning that you need to have the platform with those statues.

Star shot will trigger this with the bullet as well as the explosion. Maybe even with the dot if you wear the detonation trigger.
                  Very stronk

                  • Anonymous

Twisted arbalest will trigger this on each bounce.
If you haven't already started the reload animation, you can start getting over 10 shots.
Really satisfying but probably not actually good

Something it is actually good on is Enigma.

Doesn't seem to work properly, firing 300 rounds is averaging me getting 1 round back from this +5 upgraded (20% chance) mutator.

                      • Best for automatics but kinda funny in things like Widowmaker or Coach Gun. Very funny to get 4+ shots off from a single shot gun. My record is 7 on coach gun

The Forgotten Field is *not* the only place to get this item. The Boss' it drops from can appear in the Expanding Glade and Imperial Garden as well.
