Maelstrom is a Mutator in Remnant 2. Maelstrom increases this weapon‘s Elemental Damage by 5%. It is a brand new Mutator debuting in the Remnant 2 The Awakened King DLC.
Remnant 2 Maelstrom Effect
Maelstrom is a Ranged Mutator that can be equipped on Hand Guns and Long Guns with an availale Mutator Slot.
Once Maelstrom is equipped on a Ranged Weapon, it provides the following effect:
- Increases this weapon‘s Elemental Damage by 5.5% for each unique Elemental Status Effect on the target.
Remnant 2 Maelstrom Location
Maelstrom can be found in the following locations:
- Dropped by Mangled Atoner in Forlorn Coast.
Within the Palace of the One True King, you will find the doorway to this section of the Forlorn Coast.
After entering this doorway, continue along the path until you encounter Mangled Atoner.
Once you beat Mangled Atoner, you will obtain the Maelstrom Mutator.

In case you were wondering, when it says "Unique", it does not interpret two stacks of the same elemental status debuff type as unique, despite being from unique sources with DOT specific to their application. Therefore maximum output is 30% for burn, corrode and shock.
