A possible 'unintended' side effect of Voltaic Rondure.
I've seen it 'carry off' other skills and mods.

Have tested a few other mods, and firing an additional mod around middle of its visible 'aura' (not the sphere its self)
And boom! now your other mod that is 'stationary' is now mobile!

Tested and found this worked for:
Creeping Mist - (Pump out extra status DMG to anything nearby)
Energy Wall - (Easy visual to see that it can attach to Voltaic Rondure, and mobile cover)
      Firestorm - (Mobile Fire Tornado!)
Scrap Shot - (Moving Slow Field)
      Tremor - (Traveling Earthquake)
Witchfire - (Regular effect, with a moving firewall effect)

      Skills:
Archon - Reality Rune - (Had it carry off my bubble...)

"Ooh, 'Voltaic Rondure!' Ooh, la de DAH, Mr. Fancy Frenchman."
"Well what do you call it?"
        "It's a Ball Lightning."

I love that this builds mod power again immediately after casting - in combination with Archon and general mod power gear, it's hilarious. And hard to look at.

          • On paper, it doesn't appear to do much damage but there are two factors that make Voltaic Rondure pretty good.
First, its mod cost is 850, making it easily charged by weapons with smaller magazines and high damage, such as a shotgun.
Second, it lingers for 20 seconds, which is a tremendously long time.
In cramped spaces under siege conditions you can fill a hallway with these things, and the shock damage they dish out seems to stagger most enemies quite effectively. However, while it won't shock teammates, the secondary overload-shocks may deal a bit of damage to them.

Can only be overcharged by MELEE strikes, possibly including enemy or summon melees. Athibar and Krell Edge do not count.

This mod appears to be reminiscent of the Magnet Sphere weapon from Terraria. It is likely an homage to that weapon, as the devs have hinted at several easter eggs from other games.
