Familiar is a Weapon Mod in Remnant 2. Familiar summons a faerie familiar to slash at enemies, choosing new targets upon vanquishing the previous ones.

 

Remnant 2 Familiar Weapon Mod Effect

Familiar can be socketed into any Weapon that has an available Weapon Mod slot.

Once equipped, the Familiar  Mod bestows the following effect upon the Weapon it is attached to:

  • Summons Faerie Familiar to aid in combat. The Familiar selects a random enemy within 10m and slashes through them for 25 damage each attack. Familiar will select a new target when the previous one dies. Lasts 15s.

Despite Weapon Mods not being upgradeable, once attached to a Weapon, they receive the benefits of the weapon's level, resulting in greater damage as the weapon's level increases.

      Easily the best summon mod in the game.

      -Root Lash, terrible
      -Knight Guard, terrible
      -Space Crabs, 2nd best

      With the right build this thing can solo elites on Nightmare and then some.

        I would love to see some more testing on this, but it looks like only 1 bird can be actively attacking a given enemy at a time. if you approach a target dummy with 4 birds, they will all fly at him, but the attack rate and DPS seems to be the same as when you just summon 1 bird.

          The damage is sorta underwhelming but the mod cast is fast and you can have up to two birds active at the same time. Even though they do lots of individual smaller hits its still much lower than something with a much lower mod cost like space crabs where one crab makes up for all the individual hits.

            This mod is a summon ONLY when not attacking, in "bird mode". So its Soul Guard BULWARK stack will disappear whenever it attacks, and Soul Link doesn't work with it.

              Is it me or does this mod seemingly randomly cast itself while active, but does nothing but waste the mod power bar?

                people trashing this but I find the damage and performance quite good. the bird will stun lock and kill small enemies with ease, has aoe, is instant cast that doesn't interrupt anything else, and can be chain summoned with enough mod gen. if you get an elite or boss by itself they are great for free damage as well.

                  Even though in its text it says “summon,” this mod currently doesn’t work with Soul Link and the bird won’t heal you.

                    damage and AI arent great but it does fly and can stunlock smaller enemies(also i think it can hit both its main target and any enemy who gets too close)

                    it seemingly has health instead of being invincible but i havent seen it die yet

                      You can get this item by using the dreamcatcher on the huntress while she's asleep you will a consumable use it and fight her in the dream
