Remnant 2 Sha'Hala: Spectral Guardian Strategy Writeup

The main target is the big Orb the creature uses to perform attacks, it's recommended to use a heavy weapon when the Orb is uncovered, and automatic weapons to destroy the things flying around.

Each attack has like a "casting" time, so you will be able to get ready for the next attack if you keep focused. Sha'Hala makes hands appear all around it to shoot beams or lasers, this hands have their own "health bar" but shooting at them will also lower the boss' main health bar, but the damage it will receive is not as much as hitting critical damage on the Orb. So you can get rid of these hands used as turrets.

You can destroy these hands and some types of small green Orbs during its attacks to regain some Ammo.

When Sha'Hala fades away and the arena becomes darker, you may find a large hand coming up from the ground, this is a perfect opportunity to ignite the ground on fire on them. Even though the damage is not critical, it will inflict a heavy amout of damage to Sha'Hala anyway.

You also have a great chance to perform lots of damage when Sha'Hala puts its main Orb on you. You'll have to dodge away, but Sha'Hala holds the Orb there for a few seconds which gives you a great opportunity to perform heavy attacks, ignite the ground on fire, and maybe even hit some melee attacks.

Attacks & Counter

Attack Counter
Horizontal Beams: A bunch of purple orbs and they start forming horizontal beams that move towards you. While 3 hands on top of it start shooting lasers at you. Mind the beams that cross the map at ground level, the higher ones can be ignored. And keep on movement to avoid getting hit by the top turret hands.
Homing Orbs: Green Orbs will appear around the boss, and start moving slowly one by one towards you. Their slow movement gives you plenty of time to react, shot the orbs before they reach you.
Ascending Orbs: The Boss seems to get out of range, while green holes start appearing on the ground and green dark orbs come out from those hollows heading up. Check the ground and stay away from the holes, check again as more holes may appear closer to you.
Direct Hit: You may hear a charging sound at the end of an attack, and the Boss will take their vital orb with their hand and place it on you aggresively. Be quick to dodge once you recognize the sound before the attack.
Trajectorial Orbs: Orbs will start moving around the ground you are standing, the movement is too quick to even dodge but their trajectory will be highlighted before the orb goes through it.   Check the ground during this attack and stay out of the orbs tracks.
Hand Beams: A few green hands will appear around the Boss, the hands fire a purple beam downwards and gradually attempt to point at you. Keep all hands on check to avoid getting caught by any beam.

man this boss fight feels like you are fighting on dance floor in disco lol light show everywhere and on apocalypse difficulty everything just one or two shot you lol

        • Anonymous

Beat both versions on first try, solo veteran. Not sure why this is talked about being so hard. Change up some loadouts that work well with each other and farm to level up your guns. A beatiful and fun fight!

          • some random dude I met last night are capable of solo this mf on full-team co-op apocalypse mode without override pin. Man, why am I still playing this game?

            • Anonymous

I have 72% DR and his ****ing hands from the ground still oneshot me. what a dogshit boss since you can only guess where those hands come out of

So I joined a friends game and did this battle with the override. After the cutscene abruptly ended I was taken back to ward (my friends were downed and dead by the end of the fight) after interacting with the crystal to revive them, I ended up in the labyrinth and had to find a different crystal to revive my friends. Was this supposed to happen?

I myself have only just started the game and joined my friends as soon as I was able to take part in co-op. So if my game differs from his, would I be able to go to n'erud on my game?

After fordt speaking to Ford my first and only option of travel is losomn

Strat that worked best for me is using energy shield and Nightfall rifle and normal turret. Place shield down close to entrance and crouch behind it use Nightfall while turret unloads and just have to dodge when stuff comes out of the ground.

                  • Anonymous

Yeah shooting the green orbs doesn't do anything to them. Also there's a visual bug where sometimes the hints on the ground that let you know what may attack just don't show at all. So all in all **** boss that wants to use your entire stamina bar dodging off screen lasers.

                    • Anonymous

The alternative fight with the override pin should be noted here as ts an entirely different boss fight.

                      It is also arguably easier

                      • Anonymous

I'm assuming the override pin + fight makes Sha Hala explode the planet-ship upon death.

Never makes it to the Black Hole, any loot plans, cancelled. We did get a cool gun for it.

can you break all the tiny hands, or will they respawn? currently on apocalypse and the tiny hands are absurd

                          • Anonymous

killing him with the great sword was the most satisfying experience poking him with some range damage until the phase where hands come out of the ground is how its done, once the first hand is out stay around it if you are lucky with his move set a second hand with come out and that is where you activate your challenger perk for some nice damage hitting both hands until the black hole spawns on you and kills and you revive with the perk and continue hitting again and this time you would also hit the blackhole as well and depending on your crits the boss would be around 30%-50% and now you fight with full relics for the rest of the encounter (you can do it again but this time avoid the blackhole since the perk is on a 10min cooldown)

if you roll this boss make sure to explore everything before killing this guy, because its gonna be hard to get back to Nerud

Not that hard of a boss fight, guys. Use Encrypted ring with the Enigma for healing, and stick your mod onto the black hole like a sperm latching onto an egg and it's good game. The i-frames in Remnant 2 suck af and the black hole can pop up in your face, but that's about it.

Very frustrating at first, but very fun once I figured out all the patterns. I don't know if this will help anyone, but with the footwork perk, aiming down the sights and backpedalling, you will be able to put quite a few rounds into the blackhole when its on the platform with you

This guy should be a top down Arpg fight rather than a tps fight. There’s too much **** to keep track of on your screen

                                    • Anonymous

There's actually 2 different versions both with different attacks. I fought him using the Override Pin to begin with and his attacks were orange fire beams that sweep across the stage, some purple/pink projectiles and some slow moving blue projectiles. I then fought him a second time in adventure mode and his attacks are now whats been written above. He even has a different colour scheme or hue in the second type.

Love fighting this boss, crazy unique design, fun moveset and all of it just reminds me of tohou.

I've trained my whole life for a fight like this, and by god i'm gonna i-frame my way to the heavens

                                        • Anonymous

If you have the soulbinder mod, use it on the boss while the hands that shoot beams and projectiles are active. It instakills him when they despawn which is probably a bug.

                                          • Anonymous

maybe i'm bad, maybe its the fact that this was my first non optional boss, but on veteran mode first playthrough, i can't beat this boss. 8/10, can't get out of this damn world

                                            • Anonymous

Just did this on nightmare with a fresh char. (Some tips that may help you)
Firstly, this boss is ****ing stupid without the override.
Secondly, you dont have to dodge the long purple beams that stay at one location butt the short little purple pokes you have to dodge.
This means, when you have the "laser fence" phase, run and try to only dodge the beam that goes over the ground. When you have a darkness phase, if the hands start blasting right away at you as the phase starts, its the long beams and you can just outrun them. If they take their time with the beams, its the pokes and you have to dodge.
Thirdly, the green orb phase, try to position yourself on the far sides of the platform so you can see every orb directly. Also you can attack the orbs a short time before they start (the green aura doesnt get removed until they get to move tho, which is kinda weird). So start attacking them right aways as you can see them forming in the hands. This way you can clear the 2-3 orbs that are in your corner and you are mostly safe, after that, try to kill them for the ammo.

                                              • Anonymous

lol, I thought the override pin was just what you had to do to initiate the fight....sorry N'erud D: I can confirm, you only get EITHER the Eidolon Shard OR the Void Cinder, not both.

                                                • Anonymous

Seems that if you use the Override Pin then you only get the Void Cinder as a reward and not both the Eidolon Shard and Void Cinder. Can someone confirm this?

                                                  • Anonymous

After use Override Pin and kill the Boss.
The Custodian said something " what have you done...." and I cant go back to N Erud.

                                                    • Anonymous

                                                      This is wrong:
Use the Override Pin on the diamond shaped hole on the terminal that begins the boss fight with Sha'Hala: Spectral Guardian of N'Erud before interacting with the terminal itself. By doing these, when the fight is over, the boss will drop Void Cinder. A material that can be used to craft the long gun Aphelion

Actually If you use Override Pin, before boss fight, world will be destroyed.... happed to me right now :( Nerud is gone :(

If you want to explore Nerud after boss fight, don't use the Pin!!!

                                                      • Anonymous

I got a weapon as a reward from this fight , not sure how I triggered the alternate reward. I killed him when he was firing that big slow moving laser

                                                        • Anonymous

god this boss is so annoying. the constantly aoe and tracking lasers that doesn't give you any breathing space.
