Remnant 2 Bruin, Blade of The King Strategy Writeup

Bruin is a Boss that will try to attack you with his swords. Try to keep your distance to avoid his charges. To defeat him, be patient and attack him once he finishes each attack. You can flank and damage him from behind.
During the second phase, Bruin will leap onto an elevated platform. Be ready to evade the projectiles he launches from a distance. Utilize a long-range weapon to inflict damage on him. Subsequently, Bruin will descend to your position to launch a fresh assault. Evade his charges by rolling and aim your attacks from behind, focusing on his head.

Attacks & Counter

Attack Counter
Quick Stab: Begins by advancing toward you, performing quick blade maneuvers, either individually or combined. He will also try to kick you. Dodge and counter after each of his combos; wait for his recovery animation to be more aggressive. Remember, targeting his head and the skulls on his abdomen and back, inflicts more damage than aiming elsewhere on his body.
Blade Throwing: Leaps to the top of the castle, and starts throwing his blades while flying minions spawn to assist him. Keep moving to avoid his attacks. If you're using ranged weapons, you can attack while on the move. If you don't have enough movement speed in your build for this, you can run below the arch to trigger him to come down and resume the fight as normal.
Death Rush:  Infuses his body with a surge of energy, which allows him to warp toward you, launching a rapid sword strike. There is a brief moment between his energy charge and his attack, giving you the opportunity to dodge it.
Jumping Blades: Leaps into the air, seeking to descend upon you with the force of his blades. Swiftly shift your position to evade his strike; otherwise, the damage will be significant.

Rolled thick+skin and vicious for me on nightmare. Had to take days off playing in between to cool down because fighting for 15 minutes to bring him down to 1/3 and then dying to some single bullshit megasonic spear is frustrating as hell. I would have given up if not for a video which showed that you can hide behind a vase on opposite side of him throwing spears in the first spear phase. The second phase is then still a bit luck based in terms of which nuke spear variant he is going to choose but that one hint with the vase gave me the possibility to at least survive the first spear phase and with that I was able to finally wittle him down.

Power level 6 on veteran, unequip armor to get to blue weight (not yellow, not green). Your rolls will then move you far enough away. Two rolls forward into him or back out of range will get you through his melee hits. On green weight, I didn't roll far enough and would usually get hit with his 2nd combo attack hit. After that change, I could roll far enough to outrange his hits and I could even outrun most of his arrows from the balcony whereas before I would get hit by them if I didn't dodge.

This boss on apocolypse only throws fast spears and appears to have larger hit boxes considering ive been teleported into his insta kill attack 3 times now.

I would like to point out that middle-arena has spots with invisible walls through which spears can not pierce (it's not corners by the wall, but corners further away). You still have to dodge explosive spears, but there is enough of audio and video clues for you to do it reliably). It did work two weeks ago at least. I don't think it was patched yet.

This boss's spear rain can be avoided by sprinting in a serpentine line straight up the middle of the arena. I did it my first time through and it felt cinematic and like the soft "intended" way to do the fight, rather than standing back and trying to fire on him from far away while he pelts you with spears. After you get to under/near his raised platform, he will jump down, dealing a massive amount of damage, so be careful about his retaliation.

This boss at first seemed like he was the one cheesing, but he really isn't that bad.

Melee phase is melee, so easy to dodge. Spear phase is a little odd, because it almost seems like there's a way to dodge it but there isn't? Best I can say: first half of spear phase he chucks one at you and one at the adds, alternating who he throws a spear at; how I beat his spear phase, walk towards him and he will eventually kill all adds, and then once you get close enough he jumps down, don't bait his second phase because it makes no sense on how to dodge it, stagger your walk because it looks like he tries to aim ahead of you (I think, at least, he hit me only a few times when I tried to stagger my walk left-and-right towards him).

My current build doesn't have great stamina economy, but this guy wasn't that bad, just his spear phase is a little awkward in terms of how to dodge it.

The statues block the spears, but only three. Use that time to snipe the skull tummy. The minute you crit he comes down but not on top of you.

Why the **** does every damn enemy in Losomn have a shitty ass ONE SHOT that ignores mechanics like DIE HARD?! Whoever is ****ing designed Losomn **** needs to be fired.

PLEASE DEAR GOD LET THEM REWORK SUMMONER. I literally CAN'T keep my summons alive through this bullshit bosses spear rain even with maxed rugged and pulsing heart with max summoner perks. HOLY **** this fight is TERRIBLE.

At first I thought that YES a good fight like the Red Prince...then he did the "stay far away and chuck spears" attack and I instantly disliked this boss. What is with Gunfire's obsession with projectiles on every boss? Can't we just have a nice melee boss that actually stays near you and you have to fight it directly instead of trying to turn every fight into Sha'Hala?

                        • Anonymous

Whoever designs enemies for Losomn is a moron. There is nothing fun about the spear throw part of the fight.

                          • Anonymous

There are 3 variations of spear throwing. Start with normal throw and follow with fast throw or area throw.
I always have to run under him to avoid facing fast spear throw. Does anyone find a way to dodge this attack?

Jumped off a ****ing cliff following his spear spam, trapping me in the bossfight without the ability to hit him. Had him at like 12% HP, too. Cheating ****head.

when he starts throwing spears run underneath him, becareful tho he will jump down with an aoe slam but the fight will continue like normal. Also sometimes when I kill ALL the flying fae he jumps down on his own.

How is nobody talking about the attack that kills in 1 hit??? The projectile spam isn't even a big deal compared to the rush attack that is a OHKO. Super lame.

                                    2 tips:
When doing the charged stab, he can turn about 90 degrees to hit you, but cannot turn all the way around. In my experience, you are safe if you get behind him.

As for the ranged spam, IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH SPEED you can just walk to dodge them. With handler, maxed swiftness trait, and maxed footwork I could just strafe while shooting.

Blade Throwing: Leaps to the top of the castle, and starts throwing his blades while flying minions spawn to assist him.

Keep moving to avoid his attacks. If you're using ranged weapons, you can attack while on the move.

That's not the effin counter... run into the arch under him and he'll immediately drop down, allowing you to resume the fight as normal. the fae will attack both you and him.

lol What a bull **** asvice. lol He spams his range attacks so fast you dont have any thing els to do bus run, dodge and pray that he does not mow you down.

Ok when he is up on balcony he will start throwing spears. Normally startruning left or right. Now his next move will be either he will start throwing spears faster and if he does that you need to sprint left or right until he stops and jumps down. Or he will start throwing larger number of spears in AoE circle that wil explode after 2s after hitting the ground. So if he does that still normally move left or right and dodge spear explosion. After he stops he jumps dow and combat continues normally like in beginning but he does get one more move. From time to time he jumps in air and tries smashing into you. Dodge the jump attack.

This boss is incredibly hard on apoc. The fae are not well balanced in this fight and it took me 4 hours straight to ALMOST beat him
