Remnant 2 Fae Hunter Ring Notes & Trivia

  • The king's hunters traveled in threes, each bearing an identical ring to identify them. The touch of these rings warms and calms the bearer, steadying their breath by just a fraction--a difference of life and death at times.
  • The range bonus provided by this ring does not currently function correctly. The 30% bonus does not increase the falloff range of firearms or the distance projectile weapons can travel.
  • Rings grant players diverse benefits once donned, up to 4 rings may be equipped at a time.

Does not give any increase to the actual range of your weapons if you were hoping for more range on breath weapons or enigma

Only reason to use Nebula is for the mod (which used to be Swarm that can be attached to any gun in Remnant 1). Otherwise Nebula and Hellfire are complete pieces of crap. They really f***ed over the Spitfire from Remnant 1 (and many many other things).

There are a couple peculiarities of this ring,
1: it does not affect ideal range like I actually initally assumed based on other rings that affect range, it increases the fall off range. This does effectively make the damage at the original fall off range go from 20% to ~38% and will continue to decrease to the 20% mark at the new falloff. Though exact effect on gun may depend on ratio of the ideal and falloff ranges.

2: the increase is not actually to the max fall off range directly listed on gun but to amount of distance from ideal range and falloff range listed. example sporebloom has an ideal range of 10m, and fall off 30 meters. Based on description it soulds like new fall of should be 39m but its actually 36m. This is (30m falloff - 10m ideal ) X1.3 = 36m. and this ends up being true for other guns.
***you can esimate new range to be about falloff x 1.2, though tends to be an over estimate, such as widow maker giving result of about 102m this way, but with ring has new fall off of 100m, but is often close enough with the ones I tested though limited testing ability with gun range as inside it is max about 25m, and when you leave it from dwell to the 3 closest target (1st one on right side set of dummies) is about 39m and if you continue back to the bridge docks area the and back up to wall it is about 70ishm maybe little less or maybe little more.

though have not done much testing with how things are affected with ring when adding ideal range, this is only when using base ideal and falloff values if each gun.
this ring seems like when paired with dryzr sniper ring that makes falloff minimize to 40% dramatically increase damage at the origla falloff range. Though I have not done the math nor have that ring to test, but should put damage at original falloff range to be some where in the 60% to 80% damage mark, which means you would need like 200% increased damage to get similar results (if I am not mistaken on that with my napkin math here)

with how game works, likely not super useful on longer range guns but shorter range guns like shotguns could benefit and see a dramatic smothing of their damage over distance, especially since they can be super strong with reduced spread but damage still falls off quite fast even with some extra ideal range.

side side note: enigma, hellfire and nebula are unaffected by this ring or any other ring relating to range. My suspicion for this is because they have identical ideal and falloff ranges, game probably does not accept ideal ranges higher then falloff. And for this ring, since it seems to affect the difference in the ideal and falloff ranges, that means 0 x 1.3 is still 0.

It clearly doesnt work as intended. Added range is negligible. Targeting Jewel adds much more range (tested on Coach Gun).
