The Gunslinger is an Archetype in Remnant 2. The Gunslinger is the mid-range DPS class that focuses on reserving ammo. Archetypes can be considered the different Classes available in-game. Players' Archetype choice at the beginning of the game is important, but they can change them to another one later on by using another Archetype's item if they so desire.

How to unlock Gunslinger in Remnant 2

Gunslinger is unlocked early  by pre-ordering any of the three versions of Remnant 2 in any of the available systems. For all the other players, they will have to obtain the Worn Cylinder first. Worn Cylinder can be obtained, after completing the third world and speaking with the Keeper, by asking Mudtooth about his stories multiple times. While Mudtooth's dialogue options can be exhausted in adventure mode, he will only give you the Worn Cylinder in campaign mode. The player must progress the main plot past the point of getting to Root Earth in order to receive the Worn Cylinder from Mudtooth. Otherwise, he will tell the player to come back later for more stories.

How do you pull of this move?

PRESS: Instantly fires towards all enemies in view within 25m. Upon release, rounds will be divided evenly among all targets.

When I press the button I always just do the quickdraw 6 shot at a single target. If I hold the button it does some other move. How do you do the fire towards all enemies in view?

I found a bug or a secret… I was playing around with Ford’s Scattergun + Bullet Storm skill and noticed that, while Bullet Storm was active, 1 round would be reloaded after every shot. I never had to stop firing to reload. I tried a few different weapons with similar firing modes, tried some different mutators, and changed classes. Didn’t seem to work with any other combination. When I changed back to the original loadout infinite fire was no longer working. So either this is a glitch or I was using a particular loadout and missed something when changing back. I am leaning toward it being a glitch since this game is quite buggy regarding modifiers and mechanics but it’s hard to say because this game is also FULL of secrets.

Please someone else try this and see if you can replicate it.

Needs to be nerfed. It is why HUGS is broken and you can combine it with any archetype and it is still broken.

If you had to put the classes on a tier list of sorts, Gunslinger would unequivocally be the top and be an easy S tier. In a pure vacuum, the class with most emphasis on gunplay, is unironically one of the best all-around classes for the game that is literally 'dark souls with guns'.

If your build or setup wants to have any sort of focus on gun usage, you're literally doing yourself a disservice by not considering Gunslinger, prime archetype or not.

One could make an argument that Hunter is the top dog now, and there is an argument case that Hunter as a class has more dps potential BUT that is the only shtick; damage and nothing really more. Furthermore Hunter is only further bolstered by the fact that crit is one big part of the endgame meta now, and Hunter as a class intrinsically rewards crit builds.

But Gunslinger gives up that damage potential and makes up for it in so many QoL life ways it is insane. Every single one of GL perks either range from great to fantastic. More ammo reserves, infinite ammo, more ammo pickups, free and instant reloads in a variety of ways, fire rate increase (no other class gets this btw), NONE of GL's perks are bad or even situational, unlike other perks, and across the board they are ALL almost always useful, which very few other classes can say the same.

Its only real dud is on Quickdraw as a skill, which is just 'meh' but only because comparatively everything else GL has is insane. It can still deal respectable damage in the single shot form and be scaled well with crit and skill damage, and if you have GL as prime it doubles as an instant reload + infinite temporary ammo for your guns with an animation that is faster than most of the base reloads in the game.

Sidewinder is build enabling in of itself (seriously go check out sniper/shotgun swapper builds on yt) and Bulletstorm needs no introduction as a fantastic all around skill that has a ton of build flexibility.

I imagine with time and with more items being added (and more archetypes being introduced) GL will fall off slightly to the wayside in terms of popularity, but I will be very very surprised if the class is ever NOT viable on any level of play during Remnant 2's entire present and future lifespan.

I listened to all of Mudtooth's stories and all he did was say "Thanks for listening to my stories. Take this," and all he gave me was the Gunslinger's Ring.

              • Anonymous

A lot of potential with bullet storm, having a lever action suddenly turn into a machine gun is absolutley insane. Plus the movemnet is nice to dodge a few projectiles while aiming.

I like to Run Gunslinger as my primary archetype and Summoner. It probably isn't the most optimal combo, it's probably not even good. But the Hollows look sorta like Tumbleweeds and it's kind funny things about a wandering gunslinger killing people with a trusty revolver and kill Tumbleweeds

                  • Anonymous

IDK if fixed, but if you "Quick Draw" + "Dodge" quick enough you will have free reload + ammo. do a quick draw then dodge to cancel animation but buff will still activate, causing you to have free ammo and reload.

fairly sure the cooldowns for these skills at base are 40s, 80s and 60s respectively. The numbers above have 4% cooldown reduction involved.

Sidewinder + sniper rifle and hunting pistol + hot shot and charged shot + secondary Hunter class + Hunter's Mark = hilarious fun and raw damage. For extra juice and crit change, use Tightly Wound Coil (ring) with Energy Diverter (amulet) to have an additional 10% crit change and 15% damage on pretty much at all times. Hooray! :)

Does anyone know if the gun based abilities affect the Engineer turret while in carry mode?

I'm seeing some sources that say it does, and others that say Engineer turret only ever increases with things that affect ability damage.
