Remnant 2 Resonance Notes & Trivia

  • Traits are unique passive abilities that provide bonuses and buffs to a player. There are three types of Traits in the game.
  • Core Traits are common for all four Classes, and are unlocked as soon as you begin the game.
  • Archetype or Class Traits, are locked behind their respective Archetypes, and only one can be equipped one at a time, unless you have the ability to combine any two of your Archetypes.
  • The third type, called simply Traits can be equipped by any Class, but have to be unlocked. Unique Archetype Traits can be leveled up as you level up the corresponding Archetype. On the other hand, the rest require Trait Points in order to be upgraded. Note that they cap at level 10.

Do what exactly... i understand nothing from the instructions. So it's impossible for all 3 players to get this?

      • Anonymous

Wait so this pretty important trait is locked out for anyone who doesn't have a friend to play with?
Man... Stuff like this really annoys me.

Trait is worth the effort to unlock for boosting the range on Spectral Blade alone, you barely even need your firearms anymore.

Everything I've found so far to be affected by Resonance's range increase:

Archon - Havoc Form (Energy Shield, Blink Evade)
            Challenger - Intimidating Presence
            Explorer - Gold Digger
            Hunter - Hunter's Shroud
            Rune Pistol - Soul Brand
            Dream Weaver - Dreamweave
            Spectral Blade - Whirlwind
            Concussive Shot
            Defrag (Virus Pool)
            Familiar
            Scrap Shot
            Soulbinder
            Timelapse

It's funny how the people who rely on multiplayer to get their games done attack like piranhas whenever somebody says "I don't do multiplayer" like that's an attack on them. If you're so insecure about the fact that you need a group to accomplish anything, don't take it out on others

Whoa, sec, did they lock this into multiplayer (being the only other aoe/aura increase trait in the game?). It, well, doesn't have anything to do with multiplayer (reviving, lowering friendly damage, any healing abilities/shielding abilities that I know of, etc.). Ouch, I don't do multiplayer often - and having farmed the AOE size trait going into a firestorm/voltaic Rondure build, I just realized I'm gated for a long while if so, from getting it. Erm.

Aura refers to a Lingering AOE attack, and they are primarily used for debuffs and status effects like gas clouds (which fits with how it is acquired). This includes the gas clouds released by Gas Giant/Nebula, the Binding Orb/Dreamcatcher slow field, and the Challenger's Intimidating presence Enemy Attack debuff, the Spectral Blade's whirlwind attack, and probably more.

All of these are also referred to as auras in the game files (which is the only reason I figured this out). As far as I can tell it does not affect any positive AoEs/buffs, like the dog's area of effect health regen skill.

this boosts the range of the backstep attack of the spectral blade, the secondary blast radius of the rotted arrow mod.

My guess for Aura, given that it's a multiplayer-only acquisition, is that it increases the radius at which various abilities affect allies. This is based on precisely 0 testing, since I don't actually have the trait lol

I haven't confirmed what Aura is exactly, but I think it probably expands AOE for skills like Handler's or Medic's Shield Burst.

Does anyone know what aura is? I don’t think it’s the medics well spring. That is effected by skill radius.

Dying is required? Are hardcore characters locked out of this trait then? Same with Black cat ring? Good job, devs...

Has anyone confirmed what "Aura Size" affects? Just wondering if it would affect the Challenger's passives like "Close Quarters" or ability like the Medic's "Wellspring".

To offer clarity after being incredibly annoyed at the lack of clear information about obtaining this trait:

                                1. Dormant N'erudian Facility is the required dungeon map (I usually roll adventure mode for Seeker's Rest map, this has been my current experience, not confirmed if it spawns on Forgotten Prison map)
                                2. Once inside the map, you will require at least one other party member to "purge" you (explained shortly).
                                3. Once the event in the facility starts, the 6 minute timer, have the party run to the "secret" area of the map, where the Biome Control Glyph is located (mentioned in other guides, on this site and others)
                                4. The party member intending to get resonance must stay outside of the secret area, and continue surviving against the waves (do not kill all the enemies, or else you'll finish the event "correctly")
                                5. The party member that will perform the purging will follow the path to where the Biome Control Glyph is located and see a terminal that is only active while the 6 minute timer for the event is active. Touching this button will purge all of the enemies as well as your allies, killing them. The allies purged will receive Resonance, the purger will receive Siphoner which is the normal reward for completing this event "correctly."
                                6. Once the purge is complete, a miniboss will spawn that the purger must face alone. As of now, I do not know the rewards for defeating this, as my purger party member died in the process.
                                7. Make sure you get the Biome Control Glyph while in the room,. You'll be locked out of the facility where the event takes place after the purge. With the key, you can access the glyph door at the very start of the dungeon.

                                Good luck!

Dormant N'erudian Facility you will find a control room, one person go to the control room open the system, others will be killed by system outside the control room【who can get it】

My english is bad,I hope you can understand

                                  • Anonymous

Someone put that you get it by being purged in the Dormant N'erudian facility but that's incorrect unless they meant by the mini boss in which case I'd need confirmation since waiting the timer was not the solution.
