Remnant 2 Builds that use Kinship
Kinship is essential in builds that focus on large AoE damage, such as the mods Firestorm or Big Bang. Your co-op teammates will thank you! Friendly fire damage also applies to damage you deal to yourself, and since you are both the person dealing and receiving the damage, it's reduced by a hefty 96%.
Remnant 2 Kinship Notes & Trivia
- Kinship drastically reduces self-damage: since self-damage is dealt to you by yourself it receives the reduction twice (at level 10, self-damage is reduced by 96%)
- Traits are unique passive abilities that provide bonuses and buffs to a player. There are three types of Traits in the game.
- Core Traits are common for all four Classes, and are unlocked as soon as you begin the game.
- Archetype or Class Traits, are locked behind their respective Archetypes, and only one can be equipped one at a time, unless you have the ability to combine any two of your Archetypes.
- The third type, called simply Traits can be equipped by any Class, but have to be unlocked. Unique Archetype Traits can be leveled up as you level up the corresponding Archetype. On the other hand, the rest require Trait Points in order to be upgraded. Note that they cap at level 10.

Does anyone know if thise reduces self damage from AOE weapons? If so it could be pretty handy to have with something like the grenade launcher

With this you can build DR + fire res + radius, cast Firestorm and just stand inside it like an avatar of flame.

It's this specific trait that's putting me off choosing Handler. I'm a solo player, and having this as the big archetype trait is useless.
Unless friendly-fire is enabled for the dog, but even then it's questionable.
Whether playing Solo or Co-op, I'd say this trait is just as mandatory as Vigor (HP) on app but the most specialized builds. This trait will lower any SELF damage dealt in addition to Friendly Fire by a huge amount. You will never regret spending 10 trait points on this unless you're a 100% Solo Player with 0 means of accidental or purposeful Self-Damage. You WILL regret not having this when you down a teammate or even yourself on accident.
