Mechanic's Cog is a Ring and accessory in Remnant 2. Mechanic's Cog is a thorny gear-like ring, once part of a grand machinery, now an emblem of resilience. It enhances movement speed and provides a defensive barrier when wielding an Engineer Heavy Weapon.
Whatever machine this was part of I bet it misses this little fella. It only takes one
missing piece to throw the whole thing out of whack. Keep that in mind next time something seems impossible-sometimes all you're missing is one tiny, negligible cog.

This ring really was the missing final piece to my now favorite tank build! With the new Whispering Marble Amulet, the Dried Clay Ring, Full Leto Mk.1, Barkskin +10, Natural Fortify +10 from Engineer, the Armor Increasing Concoction & lastly the Mechanics Cog!
All combined you have a natural 80% Damage Reduction at all times while carrying your selected Engineer Weapon, in addition to a huge damage boost from the permanent 4-5 Bulwark stacks! I roll Alchemist Prime class with Engineer secondary, using Elixir of Life and Impact Cannon. Don't even need to fire my cannon more often than not, can just run through levels slapping anything on the ground with my armored body and cannon itself and just save the shots for elites or more likely, flying enemies. Seriously makes the game feel like I'm strolling through it in Fallout Power Armor and a Railgun.

For anyone unsure, this ring only applies to Engineer. Heavy Carry is when you're carrying your chosen Engineer Turret in your hands, rather than when it's stored on your back regenerating ammo or deployed on the ground in auto mode.

What are considered "heavy engineer weapons"? I don't see any stack of bulwark with scrap hammer of iron greatsword.

The more I play around with it and think about it; I honestly think this ring is a bait.
Hear me out: the idea is that its meant to reward/offset the nature of the Heavy Carry mode, but the Heavy Carry mode is only really good in certain situations when you think about it, like general mobbing or shooting a group of enemies funneled into a hallway or something; and I can only think of like a handful of bosses that truly allow you to actually use the Heavy Carry in the middle of the fight; especially as you ramp up the difficulty settings and things really start to hurt. In other words this ring is forcing you to a playstyle that is not always good.
Heavy Carry is ultimately always going to be cumbersome because you will run out of ammo, you can't use your relic or your secondary skill, and your dodge is short and limited; so all in all eventually you WILL be forced to put it away and just like that now you've got a dud ring slot.
The strength of engineer imo is the versatility of being to choose either turret or heavy carry mode depending on the situation. Turret mode is almost infinitely more useful in boss fights; so why force out that strength/utility with this ring? Something like the Silver Ribbon amulet (+15% skill damage, haste on skill cast) is going to reward you for using both modes equally; and Bulwark is honestly a pretty accessible status buff (Guardian's Ring, Hardcore Metal Band, Challenger secondary) if you really desire it.

Is it just a coincidence that Cass sold this as soon as I decided to Overclock for the first time and did 25 seconds of Overclocked damage to the boss? (Corruptor, going for the Stonebreaker)
I never ran Prime for Engineer before that, so that was my first time Overclocking.

Do the other Archetypes have rings that enhance their abilities?
Edited the page to have the correct info. Found out this morning when I went to check if the shops had anything new that Cass was selling it out of the blue.

I have searched root earth up and down and still cant find this stupid thing.
This is a bait ring that should only be used ever for Insulation Driver, and now that Clay Ring is in the game it's not even good for that.
EnHa is the best general purpose Engineer build and you already have a ton of movement speed. For an EGG build with Clay Ring, this ring isn't worth another ring slot for only 3% DR and 5% damage ONLY when heavy carrying, which you will be using the turret often when mobbing. For heavy carry, Terry booster is just better. Literally never use this.
