Remnant 2 Vault of the Formless Walkthrough

Zombie Horde (Boss Fight):

When you enter the boss room you will see giant robotic arms rearranging the walls filled with stasis beds, to clear this fight you must advance through the horde killing everything until you find yourself at a locked door. Continue killing all the enemies and eventually the fight will end, and the arms will stop, the door will also unlock. You will fight the following enemies: N'Erud Zombie, Possessed, Corpse Ball, Robot Grunt.

How to get the Rupture Canon:

During this fight, you will be able to pick up the House Lythla Glyph. While fighting your way through the level, you will come across two sections that are rotated by the giant claws that come out from above. Stay inside the second chamber and wait for it to rotate. It will bring you to a secret passage that contains the glyph.

After that, you will be able to access the Glyph Door (Lythla) in order to get the Rupture Canon at the end of the level, after completing the 'boss'.

Secret Passage - How to get Metal Driver

Where you find the House Lythla Glyph, shoot the crates at the side, and you will find a small vent. Access it and emerge from the other side to find the Metal Driver

Its possible to get this dungeon in the first area of Nerud. Specificly in the Phantom Wasteland.

Since I wanted to get the traint I noticed some things that happend on my runs to find it there.

1: You want to roll an adventure on Nerud and get the Seekers Rest (you can also check if theres a blackhole on the map for quicker noticing)

2: Once your in Seekers Rest and you make your way to the exit theres eighter an elevator you have to brought down manually, 2 statues or lots of statues. You want to find the layout with the 2 statues looking at each other while holding some glowing bubble in their hands.

3: When you found the 2 statues and your finally in Phantom Wasteland there will always be a side dungeon on the left.

4: If you look to your left in Phantom Wasteland and theres a big rocky tower, its wrong, reroll.

5: If theres no rocky tower but theres infection (some kind of green eggs and such) when your near the dungeon, its wrong, reroll.

6: You will know its the right layout if you found some sort of metallic construction to walk on to get to the dungeon.

7: Since im lazy and didnt want to kill the first boss to figure out if its in timeless horizon, i just ran it this way. It took me about 1h to find it in Phantom Wasteland.

      • If you missed the secret door in the boss fight (like me) you can go back afterward, from the start of the Vault and go to that second spinning room and get the glyph (wait to be spun around).

I know this is community made and updated, eventually we'll get dedicated "event" pages for each region since they can appear in any dungeon (like the water drain or atom splitter event) and we'll have better methods of separating guaranteed loot for an area from the random loot

My vault of the formless (20-no idea what this number is for) had a secret passage that lead to the Atom splitter. there were pods that rotated and an arm that grabed a section of the pods you had to jump on that and than quickly get ready to jump to a different ledge

            • my vault of the formless had a section where you had to drain the water from a room and it has items to pick up, unfortunate it started to fill up again and i wasnt able to get all the stuff. be quick though cause i was only able to drain the water once. i got a generating band and insulation driver (i think) with one item missed. good luck

              • PSA: I have experienced a bug where I will roll this dungeon on my N'Erud world but it will be called "The Putrid Domain" instead of "Vault of the Formless".

This area brings the Xbox Series X to its knees in Balanced mode. Felt like sub-15 FPS a good part of the time.

There's a section usually in this dungeon that can net you the Atom Splitter. It's a room similiar in design to the final 'boss' room. You have to wait for the mechanical fingers to take hold of a platform you can jump onto and then onto a broken passageway to the side of it you can jump onto as the platform rises. This will take you to the Atom Splitter

Please add a section on the water "puzzle". The most important thing to note is that it is a 1-time attempt, and it is timed. You will take a lift down, climb up a bunch of ladders, and reach a console. Before you use the console, I recommend you go back to the lift to recall it back. Go back to the console, use it, then use the lift to go back down.

You will reach the big door that is now accessible. Start climbing. At 1 point, you will see 2 purple items on the same level. Grab both as fast as you can. Climb more. The next item is only on 1 side. Make sure to go that way to claim it, then reach the top safe and sound.

If you miss any item, or get caught in the water, and die, that is it. There is no second chance here. bad design in my opinion, but it is what it is.

anyone know what the deal is the with purple void type ball that just follows you around. feel like i need to be leading it somewhere to get something.

My Vault of the formless was different. There were pods on a walkway above that zombies spawned from and after fighting I picked up the house Lythia glyph from a body, there were no crates hiding a secret path.
I opened the door with the glyph, fought the miniboss and ran up to a walkway above to pick up the Ring of Crisis.
                          That was it.

I'm stuck at the locked door that requires the Lythla Glyph (I assume) and is positioned between the two pillars. I've got the key and I've killed all the enemies before the door, but the music keeps going and the door stays closed. I tried about 5 times, but it never worked so now I gave up... :(

PSA if you also are wondering how to get the ring locked in a door with a robot drone that's right before the W.D whatever miniboss fight. Start the fight and lead the miniboss back up the hallway, when it's close enough to the door in question it should open and allow you to grab the ring :)

Found a platforming section outside the boss area. Elevator guarded by 1 robot grunt, elevator down to a flooded basement with 4 more robot grunts, at the end of the hall there is a ladder that leads you up to a room with a button that drains water from a secret hallway back underneath where we encounter the 4 robot grunts. Upon entering the new passage there is a platforming section where I found the insulation driver and die grabbing another purple item from another platform. Was not able to reexamine the hallway after death

Thier a weapon melee called Atom Splitter in this zone. To get go from the start follow the path until the second room and go right. The path end with a broken path and a rotating column. Wait for the robot arm to grab a pod and jump onto than jump to the broken path once it starts going up. From their follow the route through the door and down the ladder.
