Plasma Cutter is a Long Gun and one of the Weapons in Remnant 2. Plasma Cutter is a specialized long gun that offers high damage potential when focused on a target. It is best suited for close-range encounters, where its precise cutting power can unleash devastating damage.. It is a brand new Long Gun debuting in the Remnant 2 The Awakened King DLC
With only two notable exceptions, the Custodian has always served the Drzyr willingly, even helping us design the means of its own destruction. It was never naive in this, but a willing partner. [have had many years to consider the parallels between our dismantling of the Custodian and what our Creator has done to the Drzyr.

Plasma Cutter comes automatically equipped with the following Weapon Mod:
- Heat Sink: Forces open Plasma Cutter's heat vents dispersing all heat. While active, Plasma Cutter generates 50% less heat, and ramping damat cap is increased to 3x Damage. Overheats automatically when deactivated. Lasts 20s.
Mod Power Requirement: 1.250
NOTE: Plasma Cutter Weapon Mod CANNOT be removed, and can only be found exclusively equipped on it.

Remnant 2 Plasma Cutter Notes & Trivia
- If a tool can be used to construct a machine, then it can also be used to destroy one. The Plasma Cutter is one of the few weapons to receive the approval of all Drzyr--especially after the Custodian's rebellion, where destroying Drzyr machines became essential.
- Long Guns are the primary weapon used by the player character, they are vital to defeating Enemies and Bosses and can be crafted from items dropped by them. They can also be rewarded from events, and some are sold by Merchants.

there's a bug with this weapon and Gunfire Security Lanyard that constantly vents the heat from this gun, allowing you to entirely ignore heat buildup with that amulet alone

i made a crit build for this that kills nightmare venom in under a minute with no status things happening, just keep center mass and he is butter in a microwave

it does not cut with plasma, it can cut plasma, hence the name

would love a corrupted variant, same constant beam but as a cone AOE so its more like a full auto shotgun

Dec 12th, bugged campaign with friend who had the helm and NO weapon. Chest opened and empty.

After some testing, it seems that high fire rate builds/gear may not work well with this weapon. It causes it to overheat faster, but not in the same rate as it attacks faster, so you'll lose total damage. The problem is that it gradually increases damage over time when attacking the same target, but you'll have less time to take advantage of this extra damage if it overheats sooner, making you lose damage in the end, dps-wise and total dmg-wise. If you don't trust me, try it out on the dummy: Unequip all your gear, and shoot it until your weapon overheats, now do it again but with the Inert Overcharger amulet equiped (and stand still while you're shooting). Correct me if I'm wrong, I'd love to use this weapon in a fast fire rate build but unless I'm doing something wrong, it gets weaker in builds like that.

You can save scum to get this (at least on PS5). It was not there the first time I opened the door. Reloaded my save and then it was present.

Beware this weapon can disappear for unkown reasons forcing you to re-roll the campaign or adventure mode to get the ship again. Hope this gets patched cause it was really upsetting trying this long to get the helmet for it not to spawn.

3 times now navigation room has been in my playthrough but not the area where u get the Helm. Pretty crazy the room (which is a puzzle technically) can spawn but the Helm (the key to unlock puzzle) isn't available. It should be both or neither

unfortunately this gun seems to always hit the dog companion rather than the enemy it's fighting unless you aim at the top of the enemy's skull. it seems to increase the dog's hitbox drastically...

My favorite long gun in the game. Just with the "Microprocessor" ring and the "Deadly calm" mutator (+10), I manage to get a steady 1000 DPS (which could be increased even further (with rings and amulet).

I put a +10 Bandit on this thing and either hold fire or tap fire with mod power on makes it do crazy damage.
Tap fire with tapping was up to 25k even after a reload near the end of the mod duration and stopping dps after mod duration expired.
This is without using proper class builds as im just testing this while leveling alchemist and medic.
This weapon feels like my replacement to the Rad Beamer from remnant 1 and im glad i found this thing. Accurate and reliable.

Using the mod will instantly reload your weapon& halve the heat accumulation, this weapon with burden of follower ring is just contact beam from dead space R lol

I see a lot of comments here about tap firing instead of holding down the button for more damage. How does it work exactly? Do I tap fire like it's semi automatic or do I hold the button for a few seconds like burst fire or what? I've tried it all and the numbers feel pretty same to me, damage numbers depend only on my skill to keep the beam constantly on their weak spot.

Feel like theres a bug with this gun in regards to weak point damage at least on the mini abominations on N'erud. Their internals dont take red damage from the gun, meaning the numbers are quite low. Not sure why

I use this as my "turret is on cooldown" gun when playing Engi/Challenger. Great DPS, mod is best used when the gun is about to overheat and whatever you're shooting still has a decent chunk of life left. Pair with a Bandit +10 mutator to fix its particularly ravenous hunger for ammo. Additionally, if using Engi, using your heavy weapon for a bit should give some long gun ammo drops anyway, meaning you should never run out if you keep rotating the two.

A damn solid reliable rifle that does well and is easy to use. Slap a momentum mutator on it and the gun is good to go.

This weapon seems difficult to use on any archtype with summons, or multiplayer. I have a handler, and I cant shoot over the dog, it will simply hit the dog even though I'm aiming a good 1meter above. Other balistic weapons seem to not suffer from this effect. Hopefully this is a bug. Playing with 2 other players and their summons is a pain of constant repositioning in order to actually hit the enemy instead of an ally.

No weapon. Got the helm on my first campaign clear. On my first adventure I came across the crashed ship and used the helm. Got like 100 scrap for objective completion but there was nothing behind the door, no weapon for me.

Most likely the most consistent high DPS weapon in the game. Depending on build and crit chance. With Handler/medic that get innate bonuses to both CRIT % and damage % and the correct amulets and rings this rifle can get a consistent 18-19k DPS per normal clip and upwards of 25-26k with mod. Making it on par with Nightfall from Night weaver mod but far more consistent and still keep usability with your secondary and melee.
Night weaver is still great for bosses if you focus on mod duration and mod generation so you can constantly be in mod

Honestly if y'all like my that messes with ring and amulets and classes this gun kill's every boss especially if all party members carry one I can dish more 20k damage in 2 reloads with this weapon all legit in game smh

Hold fire = >1000DPS. Tap clip = <6000DPS. This thing made one of the world bosses die in seconds, good lord is it broke.

Is it just me or this thing feels really weak? I have it at +10 and it barely does any damage in comparison to other weapons. Even with strong rings and neck.

Is plasma cutter not guaranteed to be in the navigation room? I just completed the objected for navigation room and opened the capsule but there's no item inside wth?

I don't Know why, but this bad boy can break the cards created by the One-Eyed Joker Idol for a pretty hefty 25% crit chance, while only for 5 sec it's more then enough to instantly get max charges on the 'Momentum Mutator' for further crit and more crit damage.
Add Probability cord for 30% more crit damag.
Pop the weapon mod, neutral dodge and watch anything caught in the corsairs melt.

I got the plasma cutter in 30 minutes just rerolled adventure mode until I got seekers rest, did the extractor and got the helm in phantom wasteland, and went to timeless horizon for the ship. I did it twice actually so I can farm a bunch of scrap and mats to pay for the upgrades.

It's too hard to get this weapon. I spent 4 hours looking for caps and suddenly realized that this event has a probability of happening..
World has to have Dormant N’Erudian Facility and Terminus Station, for plasma cutter to spawn.
