An experimental infantry support weapon used for prolonged suppressive fire. High capacity, long reload, and prone to overheating. Becomes more accurate while holding down the trigger. |
XMG57 Bonesaw is a Long Gun and one of the Weapons in Remnant 2. XMG57 Bonesaw is an experimental infantry support weapon intended for prolonged suppressive fire. While it can be employed effectively at various ranges, it becomes increasingly accurate with sustained firing, making it well-suited for medium-range engagements where it can lay down continuous firepower.
Back before the Root, a heavy gun like this would have been mounted on an armored vehicle, tearing through anything in its path. But now, with the world reduced to ruins, it serves as a reminder of a time when war was fought on a grand scale.

Remnant 2 XMG57 Bonesaw Notes & Trivia
- A unique creation, fashioned by welding together two distinct guns. The combination of the two has created a rough and rugged appearance, with visible seams and mismatched parts.
- Long Guns are the primary weapon used by the player character, they are vital to defeating Enemies and Bosses and can be crafted from items dropped by them. They can also be rewarded from events, and some are sold by Merchants.

I don't like it. overheats too fast and does too little damage

want to love it and its good but heat mechanic is just too much sometimes, it usually makes this weapon a medium to long range weapon as if it overheats while your enemies are next to you leaves you in a tough spot. i suggest a mutator that absorbs the heat mechanic so instead of it causing your to be stunned for a bit it gains mod power but longer reloads so it be good in cqb fights but prolonging it will hurt you later.

Wish there was like 1 or 2 more weapons like this! it feels so fun to use something like this! Sure, we have the Vulcan cannon that is essentially a laser gatling gun, but hoping we get one more gun like this in the future DLC!

Played this thing about 15 hours exclusively. This is probably the most \ one of the most stable DPS machines in the game. The only thing I know so far that rivals this in terms of stable DPS is Engineer's overclocked hand-held Vulcan. You can completely negate reloading with reloading perks like gunslinger's or with mods that reload your gun like Hot Shot. You can also use the lvl 10 Transpose mutator to make reloading even more rare. Heat generation can be easily dealt with the Microcompressor ring. Since heat decay is instantaneous and the spread worsening is not, love-tap while waiting for the gun to cool down to keep the accuracy at max while letting the gun cool down. Take a long range secondary to cover the bad long-range ammo efficiency. The only direct downside this gun has is sort of forcing you to be tanky since it requires you to keep firing to achieve peak efficiency. Unlike single-shots on the other end of the spectrum, where you just shoot one high damage bullet and roll \ do whatever in the meantime, this gun requires you to keep shooting to be effective. Against squishier targets this is mostly a non-issue since they get staggered often by this, but against certain bosses you might struggle more than other weapons since you can't do burst damage as well.

Has one of the longest reloads, but using the Gunslinger's Loaded prime perk followed up by one of the elemental bullet mods means you never have to manually reload or even use a single bullet from reserves for that matter (assuming you spec into skill cd's or mod power generation).
