Remnant 2 Participation Medal Location

Participation Medal can be found at the following locations:

  • Can be obtained in Losomn
  • Can be obtained in Yaesha
  • Can be obtained in Labyrinth

You can earn the medal by dying when facing a Boss on Apocalypse difficulty and dying multiple times. The developers have not given an exact number of deaths as of writing, and feedback from players suggests it is a random percent.

Note: This CAN be acquired in Hardcore mode by having a party of at least 2 and having one person stay outside of the arena while the other(s) go in and die to the boss. Those in the arena can surrender when downed, and the person outside the arena can use the world stone to revive them.

  • Tested/confirmed on Faelin 23 Nov. 2023 with three players

Remnant 2 Participation Medal Lore

I've got better things to do than cobble together meaningless prizes to cushion some random traveler's bruised ego. Keep it. Toss it. Eat it, for all I care. Just stay the hell away from me if you know what's good for you.

Remnant 2 Participation Medal Notes & Trivia

  • Amulets in Remnant 2 are accessories that, once equipped, can grant players diverse benefits. Players can equip one Amulet at the same time, in the designated slot.
  • Back in August, Remnant 2 principal designer Ben Cureton told the RPG's players to git gud. In response to complaints about the RPG's punishing, accurately named Apocalypse difficulty, Cureton argued that, "it's called Apocalypse. It's not called 'I get 3 orange slices and a medal for participation.'"

randomly obtained this while rolling newest dlc world for red doe shrine and dying once to shrewd
was i really just that good that i never died to bosses enough to obtain it?
iv beaten apoc multiple times on all worlds both in adventure mode and campaign
i wonder if it was bugged and got fixed by this dlc update much like old man's story telling which was NOT fixed for me when they fixed it last time

ok i did it at losom 20.4.2024 before the brazil dlc
the mid adventure miniboss at kiln apocalypse (the one that throws grenades) took around 51 tryes (i took a look at my inventory at 51 deaths out of boredom and it was there)
i was just runing in standing at entrance and dying . i got dryed fruit cunsumable and the amulet . idk how many atempts because i got no notification for item acquisition for either of them so check your inventroy like every 5 atempts the ! still marks those 2 as new item so you will see that at least

This is actually surprisingly strong, a good backup to Whispering Marble. Great for mobbing when you need damage rings like Prob Cord, Zania's etc. (I run C.Deceit so I can't afford to drop those and I would much rather drop Marble than them or Braided). I can't afford clay ring. If you can slot in Clay + WM do that instead.

Gives you more E. HP than Navigators and the Movement speed is a nice QOL. I switch off at bosses for Abrasive but this is really good!

I got it on my second death to the Labyrinth Sentinel (cube boss) in a new campaign.

So it's either a "random" amount, or X amount times (possibly 10 as people are reporting) to bosses in general (not just the same boss).

Got it on Gwendil: the unburnt, wasn't sure if dying to adds made it not happen sooner, so try just dying to the bombs. I also got dried fruit out of it.

Got crushed by the labyrinth cube when my buddy blocked me right at the edge, we got the medal with just me dying XD he was still alive and fighting

                  • I got it by dying to the Huntress on Apoc. a few times (less then 10 times, but I didn't count them). I just spawned, baited her and let her kill me.

In Apocalypse, I tested the theory of the 10 deaths by reaching The One True King without dying, and the amulet dropped after the 10th death from him.
It appeared very fast in the bottom left corner.
If you missed it but kept the count, check the inventory and you will find the “new item” icon scrolling through the amulet list.
I rarely attacked him the first 2 times, in conflict whether to test the damage threshold or not; I took him like 2% hp before changing my mind.
Then I just stood still without hitting him all the other times, so I don’t think dmg has anything to do with it.
I can assume it works with world bosses in other domains.
I hope someone will try if you can get it with any type of boss or if 10 deaths in non-boss situations can get this as well.

Got it when I was fighting the red prince in gilded in DLC. I died about 7 or 8 times, and on the final part, just as the boss was about to die, I ran into the fire to kill myself and the boss died to poison. While dying, I collected the medal. It also gave me the dried fruits.

The amount of damage you deal to the Boss might also be a factor. Got it after dying to Venom 5-6 (maybe 7) times. Most of the times i got it below 50% health before screwing up a dodge on his One Shot Kills. On the last atempt before i had to quit it was even Below 5-10%.
This might be a factor to prevent players from farming the Amulet by just running in and let the Boss kill them

Got it on my 7th attempt dying against Abomination, the boss in the putrid domain; so it works also on minibosses. As it deal large chunks of damage, overkill damage might be a factor ?

Definitely more than just dying required. Did 100 deaths to farm this and it did not pop. There must be a time limit, damage threshold for it to count. Something.

Buddy of mine got this after a few dozen deaths fighting Annihilation on Apoc. Definitely appears to be a wide range of the number of deaths required before this will be granted.

Got it on Apocalypse Mode in Forlorn Coast fighting the Bloat King boss in the Great Sewers. Died to the blobs on the ground, not the boss. Took about 5 or 6 deaths. Was wearing the Zealot gear with the new Ritualist class as my primary class if that matters for some reason. The rest was legacy stuff.

I got this medal before it was on the wiki and never understood how I got it. I was fighting the boss in yesha where you get pulled underwater after grabbing a ring on apocalypse. He hit me 2 times and I died under water and received this amulet and some dried fruit.

I've died a bunch of times, well over 10, and haven't gotten it. I have to wonder if you have to die a number of times equal to your total Archetype levels or something. That'd be 100 for me so....yikes if that's it.

I even tried "fighting" the boss instead of just letting it kill me, and still no dice yet.

I dont think this is right. I died 20 times to various bosses yesterday on Apoc in multiple worlds, as well as both Losomns. Random roll and One Shot variations.

None of them gave me this item in solo or co op with a friend, not even the One True King.
