An incredibly powerful 12 gauge shotgun with a wide spread. High damage, slow reload. |
Ford's Scattergun is a Long Gun and one of the Weapons in Remnant 2. Ford's Scattergun is an incredibly powerful shotgun that delivers a wide spread of pellets, making it most effective in short-range encounters. Its high damage output compensates for its low magazine capacity, ensuring devastating impact up close.
The paxultek Ford is said to have visited Yaesha many times over the course of his long life—a life that rivals the span of even the lowest among the Immortals. Historians are still finding relics of his world and expeditions, teaching us more about the strange and deadly world he comes from.

Remnant 2 Ford's Scattergun Notes & Trivia
- This weapon is from an era before the era of the Root. Though old and rusted, its components are superbly crafted. They seem custom-made for each other, not the disparate, slapped-together parts of most weapons you've seen.
- Long Guns are the primary weapon used by the player character, they are vital to defeating Enemies and Bosses and can be crafted from items dropped by them. They can also be rewarded from events, and some are sold by Merchants.

All guns, that drop in the world in my experience, upgrade when picking up a redundant copy.
So if you have the seal of the empress you can just reroll Yaesha adventure until you get the red throne, walk into the world, head to the library, grab a free +1 upgrade for the gun and any loot you feel like grabbing such as the prison chest, then reroll again until your shotgun is at the desired level.

Note: You can repeatedly grab the gun from the Red Throne by rerolling Yaesha adventure for red throne, farming upgrading it, metal, some scrap, a bit of exp from killing the two guards, and apocalypse-tier relic fragments.

Give this to a gunslinger with the bullet storm skill and you'll pretty much kill anything that isn't resistant to bullets.

Just went back through on a reroll and grabbed it again for the scrap but instead grabbing it again upgraded the one i had +1 level. First time seeing this when grabbing a weapon a second time..

This is pretty much the regular shotgun from 1. Compared to Bulldog it has a much bigger spread and overall lower damage per second (450 on Bulldog vs 429), however it has i feel a massive advantage in the fact that same as in 1 it can be reloaded while rolling (it reloads bullet by bullet, reloading doesn't stop while you roll, on top of that you can shoot something without reloading to full) which gives it much more utility in a close range but "unspeciallized" build, if you have aggro you need to roll a lot while in melee range and being able to reload during it massively increased damage uptime. Not sure right now which is stronger, the reduced spread on Bulldog is honestly insane if you have enough (shoots like a hunting rifle) but the reload is massive especially in solo play.

is the only way to get it is to create a new character that starts with the explorer class? or is there a way for me to get this weapon for my existing character
I found a bug or a secret… I was playing around with this weapon + Bullet Storm skill and noticed that, while Bullet Storm was active, 1 round would be reloaded after every shot. I never had to stop firing to reload. I tried a few different weapons with similar firing modes, tried some different mutators, and changed classes. Didn’t seem to work with any other combination. When I changed back to the original loadout infinite fire was no longer working. So either this is a glitch or I was using a particular loadout and missed something when changing back. I am leaning toward it being a glitch since this game is quite buggy regarding modifiers and mechanics but it’s hard to say because this game is also FULL of secrets.
Going to post this on the Bullet Storm and Gunslinger page in hopes that someone is able to replicate this.
