Blackwood Altar is an Event in Remnant 2. Blackwood Altar is a crafting table that can be found in The Far Woods. Events are situations where a player can obtain special Items like Weapons or Consumables for solving a puzzle or finding a secret area. These events may or may not appear during your play through, requiring a restart or an adventure mode play for a chance of getting them. All Events are bound to their corresponding Locations.

just some help here: Yes you CAN find it in the Far Woods HOWEVER i find it far easier to re-roll adventure mode and look for The Forbidden Grove starting zone. The door is just open and if you walk around you'll find it close to where you spawn with very few enemies to fight.
Seems that the altar has been renamed to Bloodmoon Altar? That or it has multiple names. Also, like ExiledToBronze said, it can be found in the forbidden grove as well
