Remnant 2 The Burning Event Walkthrough

You will find a group of people, about to burn a hanging man. You can decide to act in two different ways, stop the burning or let the burning take its place.

Stop the Burning

Deal with the one carrying the torch first to prevent the burning. All spectators will turn hostile after doing this, and more Enemies will come from different directions to attempt to burn the hanged man. Try to be specially aware to the ones bringing torches, as they are the ones with the capacity to burn him.

You will earn the Shadeskin trait as the event ends. The Dran will get down and tell you about why he was about to be burned alive.

You will earn the Dran Memento from him.

Watch the Burning

You will earn the Shadeskin trait. After the burning, leave and return. You may now kill the pig devouring the burnt corpse and acquire the Singed Ring.

I found running the summoner flyer minions with the rugged trait helped handle the torch enemies pretty well on solo veteran, even without a designated summon build. just make sure not to stand directly on the pyre, or a stray grenade could easily hit you and the hanging dran. there were surprisingly few enemies compared to the tiller’s rest light spirit quest

Note: Apparently, it's not just the dudes with the torches but also the ones who can throw molotovs who can light the pyre, making this event needlessly obnoxious.

This event almost feels scripted. No enemies around and then BAM a torch guy spawns on the pire. Looking at the thing for a whole minute with nothing happening, until it lights up in flames.

How do you save him? Kill the dude with torch? I was trying to shoot the chain or maybe interact with the crank it attaches to on the post but was too late.

Not sure if I glitched it or what. But when I failed to save him I would just die and the event would reset. My last attempt right at the very end a mob set the fire and I killed him. Then the event ended with me saving him. I got the Dran Memento and the Shadeskin rewards.

If you let it happen and then rest at the checkpoint and come back into the arena, a dog will be sniffing the burn pile. Kill it and get the singed ring. It increases damage dealt to burning enemies 10%
