Zombie Cave is an Event in Remnant 2. The Zombie Cave is a vault built in the ground in some of the open areas within N'Erud. Events are situations where a player can obtain special Items like Weapons or Consumables for solving a puzzle or finding a secret area. These events may or may not appear during your play through, requiring a restart or an adventure mode play for a chance of getting them. All Events are bound to their corresponding Locations.
Remnant 2 Zombie Cave Walkthrough
During the exploration of the open areas within N'Erud, you may find a vault that seems to lead underground with a closed door within. The door only has a console next to it, and by interacting with it, you will unlock the door and find an elevator leading underground. Here you will encounter a few N'Erud Zombies, and once clearing them out, you can continue forward and find the Stasis Core.

Is this in the 1st open area like phantom wasteland or 2nd area like timeless horizon?
After grinding for this item myself, watching videos, reading comments, I think I can confirm that this item/event ONLY spawns in The Eon Vault. Furthermore, the associated “vault” looks identical to the one where you find the Soul Spark Cylinder for Tal’Ratha’s questline EXCEPT that there will be a giant hole in the ground in front of the outer door.
Therefore, if you don’t catch this on your campaign and you’re ready to grind for this drop, try the following:
1) Re-roll Adventure N’Erud until you get Forgotten Prison (Tal’Ratha’s questline).
2) Speedrun to the second major area The Eon Vault.
3) Look for a “vault” identical to the quest-related one but also look for the very obvious hole in the ground.
If anyone has experience differing from this advice, comment or reply.
If no one contradicts me inside a week or so, let’s update the wiki page(s) with this info.
