Steel Scythe is a Melee Weapon and is one of the Weapons in Remnant 2. Steel Scythe is an improvised scythe that deals moderate damage, ideal for a slice-and-dice approach. It is a brand new Melee Weapon debuting in the Remnant 2 The Awakened King DLC
The thing about ingenuity is it requires both a stroke of inspiration and the sheer force of will to bring your vision to life. Never underestimate someone who possesses this quality, and I wouldn't recommend turning your back on them either.

People are sleeping on this, although I can see why. Its normal and neutral backdash charged attacks feel... bad, when you test them out on the training dummy. You spin the scythe three times in a row (which hits three times a spin) and then do an overhead chop+side sweep. On the spins each hit halts the scythe for a tic and prolongs the animation time by a frame or so, which makes things like increased attack speed and melee charge speed feel like they are only having partial effect. Again, that feels bad, and I wouldn't blame anyone for just going "trash weapon" and moving on. So, what does it do well?
Uncharged melee attacks come out very quickly, and since the weapon has a pretty decent base damage it racks up DPS. The first string of them is four hits that finish with an overhead chop, and then it loops with three hits that end with the same chop. Where it really gets good is blending a charge attack into that combo on the last hit, so that the overhead chop becomes the overhead/side sweep combo from the charged attack chain. The chop comes out very quickly and does high damage, and can be chained immediately back into the uncharged combo/chop finisher. The animation loop is also good for hitting weakpoints that are accessible from overhead attacks. Put the Matriarch's Insignia on and you'll be gaining net stamina every loop, too, so you can dodge roll and position as much as you want.
Weapon pairs very well with the Overdrive Mutator (melee crits give stacking crit chance and damage). Scythe spin actually starts to feel kind of decent with that on, if just to proc max stacks quickly since it hits so many times so rapidly.
On an Alchemist/Challenger build that maximizes melee speed and damage, this thing really does thresh hard.
