Charge Melee Attacks apply BURNING which deals 200 FIRE damage over 5s

Smolder is a Melee Weapon and is one of the Weapons in Remnant 2. Smolder is a fiery melee weapon crafted from the remains of the formidable Root Dragon. Its burning blade delivers powerful blows, and its unique Blaze mod adds fire damage over time to charged melee attacks. A symbol of the Wanderer's remarkable triumph over an unimaginable foe.

The idea of defeating the Root Dragon was something I couldn't even fathom, let alone fashioning a weapon from its remains. The sheer willpower and tenacity of the Wanderer was truly remarkable.

Remnant 2 Smolder Notes & Trivia

  • A formidable sword forged from the charred remains of Singe, the Root Dragon. Its sharp edges glint menacingly, and the hilt is adorned with intricate Root growth, imbued with the fury of its monstrous predecessor.
  • Melee Weapons are up-close and personal Weapons, and can be upgraded as well as bought from Merchants or found throughout the world of Remnant 2.
  • Notes, Tips, and Trivia for Smolder in Remnant 2 go here.
  • This weapon deals fire damage with its attacks (all except its dashing attack). That means it scales with elemental/fire damage boosts, which makes it at least usable with the right setup despite its low base damage.
  • Updated with the release of The Forgotten Kingdom DLC. Check Patch Notes for more information. Increases burning damage from 150 to 200.

Since it's not noted anywhere on this page, it's worth mentioning that this thing deals fire damage with its attacks (all except its dashing attack, which I assume is a bug). That means it scales with elemental/fire damage boosts, which makes it at least usable with the right setup despite its low base damage.

      • As one who did not receive this weapon. I reported the bug on the discord and not receiving it has to do with the patch going through if you were mid campaign. Meaning the whole don't use adventure thing only worked because the new campaign started AFTER the patch. The issue has nothing actually to do with avoiding adventure mode. Just thought I'd come by and help clarify.

I'm posting this in every 'beat the campaign to unlock' item:
For those that didn't unlock it after beating the final boss. It SEEMS to be something to do with swapping game modes, I beat the campaign once after the patch and it still didn't unlock, but then I saw someone say something about beating it without ever going to adventure mode and decided to try. Guess what, now the vendors are selling the new stuff.
I'm not sure about doing coop or joining others, didn't test that. But if you're playing solo try to beat it all in one go, don't even load the adventure mode.

It makes sense I'm seeing people say vendors reset after coop because everytime I leave coop and go to reggie I have to tell him I found clementine in the Labyrinth

For some reason smolder's charged attack burn doesn't visually change the damage number in the description depending on your gear, even though it does in fact get buffed based on your items. I am unsure whether upgrading has any effect on it, as upgrading the weapon also doesn't show any increase in the burn damage.

Question, is this weapon account-bound? Like,if you beat the campaign on Veteran on one character, it becomes available for all characters?

                • Anonymous

Completed the game in veteran, no smolder or sporebloom. Made a character in hardcore lowest difficulty, did first world boss, then Brabus sold me the two weapons.

                    I have 3 characters

Two in veteran (for solo) and one in Hardest dificulty (to play with my Hardcore souls fanatic friends)

I completed the game solo in vet and unlock the Smoulder (melee) and Sporebloom (shotgun) aswell as bandid set, leto mk1 and founders oufit

Im yet to finish the hardest dificulty

My friends that also played in vet played in co op and beat the game without getting the oufits and weapona, we kinda presume that playing in co-op resets the vendors making them unable to get the goodoes that we ublock by beati g the game

I´ve cleared the game on Veteran 3 times, one time for myself and two times helping friends and a single time on apocolypse solo. So four clears in total and yet Brabus (weapon vendor) is not selling me this weapon or Sporebloom aswell or any weapon which should be available after clearing the game.
