You would think there would be another use for the box if kept unopened, why even put the pendant in there?
Found in secret passage in cotton kiln, there was a hole in a wall covered by 2 wooden palates leading to a short tunnel in a wall, ladder climb and some roof parkour with crow enemies charging at you (they do a lot of damage so be prepared), an amulet was there as well
Click inspect.
Pivot it so the front is facing right at you.
Move the cursor over the lockable clasp (cursor will brighten up).
Then interact with whatever button it prompts you to.

PSA: there is a bug with this item. If you bring it into "The Widow's Court" in Yaesha, the Simulacrum and Quest items in this area will not spawn. Wanted to test which Quest items would carry over when rerolling the campaign when I discovered this (for those wondering, the only quest item that does is the "Rotten Thaen Fruit," which can actually be collected multiple times). Tested it by backing up my save and inspecting The Wooden Box before entering The Widow's Court to confirm (also rerolled the campaign after replicating the bug and found no issues with The Widow's Court).
