Memory Core II

Quest Item

An incredibly dense memory storage device, containing not only knowledge but also algorithms, filters, classifications, and learned behaviors. Once part of a strong Al, it has been reduced to a single, unthinking purpose.

"Originally, the Custodian was built to be straightforward, more machine than intelligence. This proved unnerving, even frustrating, to those who worked with it. Even the Drzyr, creators of the greatest machines in the universe, do not trust our own creations it would seem.

So, we added a social layer on top of its base programming. This proved beneficial... for a time."

Before you waste a ton of time trying to see if you can get both items go to the device you put them in and see if you have 2 spots to interact with. If there is only one spot you can interact with then you can only get the amulet.

      • So its RNG and the Dormant N'Erudian Facility has to spawn in the same world as the Train Station where you get teh cypher? This is bullshit if true. I just wasted hours completing N'arud for the xth time again just to find out the last location I not have discovered is Alepsis Taura. Or can it found elsewhere? It seems its supposed to spawn, I already inserted the cypher.

apparently, unless i had horrible luck, you need to have an instance where BOTH key items occur. no getting one item in campaign and the other in andventure. nope. game to smart for that. you must get BOTH ITEMS IN THE SAME WORLD.

UNLESS MY LUCK WAS ABSOLUTE GARBAGE, WHICH IS POSSIBLE.

Well atleast now i know how to see if my world has the dormant facility. Go to custodian and area underneath should tell me pretty much if that facility is in this particular roll or not.

Okay, so to try and clear up some of the confusion among the comments as well as the wiki entry - this is how it actually works:

There is a room with barriers below the area where you find The Custodian.
Near the entrance to the side by a statue there should be a hole in the ground you can go down.

There you will have access to a vendor "Drzyr Replicator" as well as two elevators. Get on the elevator that goes downwards. (Just check the ceiling, is there one? Elevator down. Is it a hole? Elevator up.)

Now there is no guarantee that you will have access to both keys (Decorum Cipher and Memory Core II) during the same run so this part might be a bit random and may need some rerolling.

If you get a world where both are available (Terminus Station as well as Dormant N'Erudian Facility need to both be available locations) you will also need to acquire both to get to the Pulse Rifle.

So go to both locations and get their respective item.
There is NO correlation between the two keys and the item you get, it's simply that there are two barriers to get through and one item opens one barrier.

Regardless of which item you put in first - only the first barrier will go down which gives you access to the Core Booster.
Then, regardless of which item you put in second - the second barrier will go down which gives you access to the Pulse Rifle.

So again: you NEED BOTH to get access to the Pulse Rifle.

Take this item and the Decorum Cipher to a place underneath the Custodian, accessed by a hole close to the entrance. There is a vendor there and if you ride the elevator down, you'll come into a room with a purple console on the center. To the right, crawl under a rock to find the Escalation Circuit. Then go back to the purple console and place the Decorum Cipher along with the Memory Core II to open a door. Behind it is the Core Booster amulet and the Pulse Rifle.
