Remnant 2 Cube Gun Notes & Trivia
- This weapon combines the awesome power and simplicity of the Labyrinth's last bastion: its final, deadliest, cuboidal defense. You like it much better in this form.
- Hand Guns round up the players' arsenal, providing them with a shorter-range variation to Long Guns. They can be crafted from items dropped by specific Bosses, rewarded from events and some are sold by Merchants.
- Updated with the release of The Forgotten Kingdom DLC. Check Patch Notes for more information. Increased Projectile Speed from 4000 to 6500, Moved the “Callback” trigger earlier in the Manual Reload animation, No longer triggers “Reload” behaviors when projectiles return to weapon and MOD: Fixed an issue preventing some player projectiles from penetrating Cube

THIS GUN NEEDS STAGGER......... It shoots bricks for crying out loud

Protip: Gunslinger's Charm, Outcast Ring, and Shiny Hog's Lure. Shoot fast as all hell and use the mod as often as you like.

Very weird interaction with Defensive Action Loop. Cube Gun won't trigger it, but if it's already active from reloading your long gun, Cube Gun will reset the timer to 3s every time it reloads a shot.

this gun is really OP when combined with the ring that restores mod power on reloading
every time a bullet is returned to the gun, its considered a reload, so you can effectively refill your mod power by shooting the ground or walls between combat or after changing the mod on another gun
almost never need to use the crystal because im almost never out of ammo, i can restore mod power whenever i want, and using the medic class i have heals and can refill relic charges passively lol

My only beef with this gun is when it overheats. It'd be helpful if you could at least swap guns while you wait for it to cool off instead of being limited to only dodging. I find that once I get swarmed, I spend more time managing the heat gauge than fighting, which gets super annoying after a while.

im not going to lie, the infinite ammo and no reload makes this a favourite for me. paired with huntmaster rifle makes me a deadly threat to any and all enemies.
hunter and gunslinger are the best archetypes to pair with this weapon imo.
shaed bloom crystal/gunslinger amulet for amulet (laemir censer if you want the shield to last longer).
for rings you dont explicitly need microcompressor (reduces heat gen by 30% and the cooldown is 30% faster) but it is definitely something you should try out with this weapon. its practically made for it. there is also constant variable ring which increases your damage based on your heat meter. fae hunter ring increases your range on this gun, which i dont recommend, but if you are pinpoint accurate, that might be up your alley. if you arent, your bullet will go further if you miss and take longer to come back.
thats about it. OP weapon and definitely a secondary you should invest into (its practically my primary at this point)

Reload speed affects the speed at which projectiles return to the magazine. So it multiplies fire rate in return.

... anyone know if blocking 1 projectile is the same as blocking more?

Nothing like pelting gods and monsters to death with Lego blocks.

it looks like the health of the shield can be increased, so how would you do that? are there perks that can do that or does upgrading the gun do that?

Does anyone know if the cube shield mod can activate the effects of shield based effects like generating band (regen 3% hp per second while shielded)?

The trick to the cube gun is simple: only shoot things that are very close with it. If you use it at its maximum range you are going to constantly be dry on ammo, as the tiny "magazine" depletes very fast and the projectiles seem to travel slower on return than they do on the way out. However, if you stick to targets within 20m or less, they will return fast enough that you can keep firing the gun almost constantly. Needless to say, you should absolutely pair this thing with a higher damage, slower firing long gun. It would be very, very redundant to use for example the automatic shotty with this.

When the 'Cube Gun' is used to trigger the ring: 'Tightly Wound Coil' you will have to reload your long gun (even if you only fire 1 shot) before you can trigger the ring again, this is likely a glitch.
Tightly wound coil: (when spending 75% or more of current magazine, gain a SHIELD for 10% of max health for 5s. Does not stack with self)

I can't find any mutators that work for it. Weirdly a lot of them are "No effect for this weapon." Has anybody found one that actually works?

BTW, current upgrade table is incorrect, this is a boss weapon, so it gets +20% (+3) of damage per upgrade level (1 - 18, 2 - 21...).

Amazing weapon. Of course, projectiles could flight faster and further but infinite ammo and no reload need makes it perfect for eliminating lots of smaller enemies.

Note: current picture is of the Bolt Driver, Not the Cube gun, cube gun has more cubes!
Hopefully this will get fixed in the near future

I wonder if the projectile speed of this weapon would increase if you equipped rings that did that. — The Fist of Fury
