Killing Bane while dying still does give you the Wooden Shiv

For those complaining about this boss...the boss is a summoner enemy...the boss itself is easy...it is WHAT IT SUMMONS that is the problem, so just kill it ASAP and then focus on the minions it summoned.

Don't enter the arena and just fight the Bane from the hallway so you don't spawn the other mini-boss. I suggest using Engineer as primary archetype and just blast the thing from afar.

I got teleported to this Boss when I was in Co-Op on Losom it had a rest crystal in the area are you sure you gotta have Root Earth unlocked or did we glitch there

I died once, and the boss did not spawn any longer. I tried exiting main menu and got another of that orb. But no boss spawned... Is this bug or just locked out from the boss. Some of the comments here stated they could face the boss again with same procedure but to me it just does not spawn...

Interesting thing about this boss is that he seems changes suffixes with every attemt, for exaple on my first attemt he had Thick Skin and Empower, but on the second attemt he had Teleporter and Drain.

There is a very frustrating bug if he has Displacer, you're instantly teleported inside a wall miles from the arena and have to suicide.
You can come back a couple of times and he'll have new affixes, but he seems to have Displacer very often.

This is definitely one of the worst bosses lmao. Might be coping, but the fact that i had 2 of the venom bosses spawn (ONtop of the other root hordes that also spawn) makes this miniboss pretty damn cringe. Play multiplayer and pray that you can have your friends distract the massive enemy horde so that you can just kill the boss, or somehow spend all that time instead clearing the adds without wiping out. No idea how this would be managed on the highest difficulty.

the big dudes that come with him absolutely beat the snot out of me so i re got the consumable and then just killed bane as fast as possible and ignored adds

Unlike ALL of the guides online suggest, you CAN repeat this boss fight if you die during it.
You simply have to return to the location of the corpse you got the dream from and get another.
I was FURIOUS the first time i died because I was sure I'd just put 30 hours of work into a blender but no, you can continue getting more dreams from the corpse.

I killed him and died before being able to loot him. I collected another dream and re-entered and he was not there. This boss can not be fought after death as this page states.
